The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge novel Chapter 870

Leonie chased Connor around the balcony, determined to hit him.

Seeing them running wild, the puppy joined the parade. The two humans and one dog sprinted down the stairs and tore into the yard, doing laps in total chaos.

Gwyneth laughed until tears streamed down her face. Once she caught her breath, she instinctively checked the location app on her phone. Hawthorne had arrived at the office.

His icon was completely stationary, meaning he was likely locked in his office working.

For the entire morning, Gwyneth's routine consisted of painting, checking Hawthorne's location, and watching Connor and Leonie act like absolute lunatics.

"Leonie, I'm perfectly fine here. You and Connor should go out and have fun. It's boring for you guys to just sit around here all day, and with all this noise, I can't focus on my painting."

The two of them hadn't even realized they liked each other yet. To Gwyneth, they were a match made in heaven.

But she genuinely didn't have the energy to manage them anymore. She had admittedly been a little selfish—when she was fighting with Hawthorne, having Leonie around had been a huge comfort. But today, their endless screaming match was giving her a headache.

All the commotion had apparently startled the babies, because they were kicking up a storm inside her.

Gwyneth half-wondered if the twins were currently having a boxing match in her womb.

After exhausting themselves, Connor and Leonie noticed it was getting late.

Gwyneth offered to have them stay for dinner, but Leonie quickly declined.

She knew Hawthorne would be home later, and she didn't want Connor hanging around and ruining the couple's evening. Grabbing Connor by the ear, she marched him toward the door.

Downstairs, Butler Parham watched the chaotic duo. Seeing Miss Leonie dragging Connor by the ear, he blinked, thinking his old eyes were playing tricks on him, and nearly dropped the tray he was holding.

Realizing she was being watched, Leonie flushed in embarrassment, quickly released Connor, and stuck her tongue out playfully. "We're just messing around, Butler Parham!"

Butler Parham maintained a perfectly deadpan expression, though his lips twitched slightly. "Have a safe trip, Miss Leonie. Take care, Mr. Kaufman."

Leonie climbed into the passenger seat of Connor's car. She had originally planned to grab dinner with him and casually asked if they should get food.

But after witnessing Gwyneth and Hawthorne's domestic bliss, Connor was in a foul mood. His patience had hit rock bottom, and he snapped, "No. And even if I did eat, it wouldn't be with you."

Leonie thought he was just joking at first, but seeing the dark scowl on his face, her heart sank.
