Before Connor could even reply, Leonie hung up on him. Immediately, Connor called back.
Leonie was fiercely annoyed, all her previous composure evaporating into thin air. She had made up her mind that no matter what Connor said, she wouldn't pay him any attention. But as he called her over and over again, her resolve began to crack.
"What exactly is your problem?"
"Don't misunderstand, I just wanted to ask if you made it home safely. I don't mean anything else by it. Don't act like we were dating and are going through a breakup."
Leonie was absolutely infuriated by Connor.
"Where I am is none of your business. If you harass me again in the middle of the night, I'm blocking you."
Leonie was truly furious this time. Connor held the phone for a long time, completely stunned.
Eventually, he sent a message to the group chat, telling all his buddies to call off the search.
Fully sobered up, he drove back to his own condo and sat at the entrance, smoking in his car for a long time without any intention of getting out.
It wasn't until Marcus Green saw him from upstairs that he instructed the butler to open the gates.
"Young Master, Mr. Green wants you to come inside."
Connor knew Marcus was watching him from upstairs. Left with no choice, he drove into the garage and stepped out of the car, still reeking slightly of alcohol.
"Why are you back so late again?"
Marcus had done his best with his nephew, but as Connor grew older, his rebellious streak only seemed to worsen.
He had been out drinking with his friends, and the faint smell of alcohol lingered on him. Marcus instinctively frowned. "Drunk driving?"
Connor replied coldly, "I have no interest in a seven-day jail vacation."
Marcus gave a curt nod. "You have a bright future ahead of you. Watch yourself."
Connor shot him an odd look. "What? Is the Green family out of money to support me? Do I need to go out and make a living myself?"
A future was absolute bullshit to him. The Green family's assets were enough to last Marcus and Connor several lifetimes.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge
I can’t even read this sickening story anymore, this couple didn’t even get a chance to be really happy before their marriage was torn apart. It had been dragged out long enough....
If Gwyn gets an abortion I am going to stop reading this story, I believe in pro-choice but come on. Why can't he just tell her what he is really doing with Patti instead of letting her think she is a mistress....
Why no updates? It’s been so long! Pls update....
