By the time he hung up, Leonie had finished feeding the dolphins and was looking his way.
Even though she was technically older than Dorian, she played with the unbridled joy of a little kid whenever they were together.
Dorian pulled out a tissue and gently wiped the sweat from her forehead. For Leonie to be sweating in the middle of winter meant she was playing hard. A brief flash of fondness crossed Dorian's eyes, though he quickly masked it.
"I saw you on the phone. Was it something urgent? Or did you skip work just to hang out with me? Because if you did, you really don't have to. I can compensate you for the time. What's your escort rate? I can transfer it right now."
"I told you, it's fine. Don't treat me like that. I don't just accompany anyone." Dorian's sudden flare of anger startled Leonie.
Realizing she must have hit a nerve, she quickly apologized.
"I didn't mean it like that! I was just worried I was keeping you from your job. Honestly, I'm perfectly fine, I was just in a bad mood earlier. I'm really happy you spent the day with me, but if I'm holding you back, I want to make it right."
Dorian reeled his temper back in, taking a breath to adjust his emotions before looking at her.
"I'm sorry. I was just thinking about some frustrating things and lost control of my temper. Please don't take it personally."
Leonie didn't hold it against him. She figured her wording had been a bit too transactional, accidentally reopening a wound. It was partly her fault.
"Alright, alright, let's stop apologizing to each other. Since you're really free, there is actually one more place I want to go."
Leonie knew there was a famous tarot reader in the nearby park, rumored to be incredibly accurate at predicting romance. Leonie still hadn't figured out what her feelings for Connor actually were, but seeing everyone around her settling down made her anxious.
Dorian reflexively replied, "Sure."
After finishing at the zoo, he accompanied her to the park. Leonie got a tarot reading.

I can’t even read this sickening story anymore, this couple didn’t even get a chance to be really happy before their marriage was torn apart. It had been dragged out long enough....
If Gwyn gets an abortion I am going to stop reading this story, I believe in pro-choice but come on. Why can't he just tell her what he is really doing with Patti instead of letting her think she is a mistress....
Why no updates? It’s been so long! Pls update....
