154 Chapter 154 Say Whatever About Me

Blanche’s POV

I could tell Drew was defending Joanna.

No.I replied, my voice laced with contempt.

Drew’s eyebrow shot up as he gave me a questioning stare.

He’d always known me to be meek around him, never daring to make waves. Yet here I was, bold enough to meet his gaze directly.

Drew moved closer, his towering presence engulfing me in shadow. He cut straight to the chase. Zain has always been in love with

Joanna. Aren’t you planning to step down?

I held my ground, looking him straight in the eye. I’m not stepping down. What are you going to do about it?

My defiant attitude made Drew chuckle.

He let out a few harsh laughs before stopping abruptly, his expression turning cruel. The Callum Family is nothing but trashjust like

Amber.

The mockery in Drew’s eyes was unmistakable.

His words ignited my fury. What did you just say?I yelled.

Drew stood there with his hands shoved in his pockets, radiating arrogance. I said you and Amber are both garbage. Born worthless.”

He smirked and added, Did you catch that? If not, I can say it again

Before he could finish, I swung my hand and slapped him hard across the face. Shut your mouth!

The blow snapped Drew’s head to one side. He rolled his jaw, working out the numbness as blood seeped from his lip.

My entire palm went numb from the impact. I’d struck him with everything I had.

My voice came out steady but icecold. Say whatever you want about me, but don’t you dare mention Amber. You have no right.”

Drew wiped the blood from his mouth with his thumb, then studied the red stain on his finger.

He stared at it briefly before breaking into sudden laughter.

When his eyes returned to me, his voice oozed contempt. Am I lying? She stripped naked right in front of me, tried to get me into bed,

and begged me to sleep with her. Tell me that’s not pathetic.

I glared at him defiantly, Impossible. Amber isn’t that type of person.”

Drew’s laughter grew louder, dripping with scorn. Oh really?

Stop lying. You think I’d believe your bullshit?I shot back.

Drew sneered, completely ignoring my response. A divorced woman? No matter how beautiful, she’s just used goods. Easy to get, but

honestly, there’s zero thrill. All that beauty completely wasted. Boring as hell.”

I couldn’t take it anymore. I tried to slap him again, but Drew was quicker this time. He seized my wrist in a painful grip.

His stare was cold and menacing as he looked down at me, while I glared back with blazing anger.

Drew, stop spreading lies about Amber. She’s not that kind of woman,” I snapped.

Drew just shrugged, letting out a low, mocking chuckle. Lies? Honestly, I’d rather beeating out your sisterinlawif you know what I

mean.

He deliberately left the sentence unfinished, but I understood exactly what he was suggesting.

I was so enraged I could barely breathe.

I lost control. I kicked, threw punches, even tried to headbutt him.

But Drew wouldn’t let me land another hit. With a brutal shove, he sent me tumbling to the floor.

I hit the ground hard but kept glaring up at Drew defiantly. He looked down at me coldly. Blanche, do yourself a favor and make room

for Joanna. That position was never yours to begin with.”

With that, Drew walked away without looking back, leaving me on the floor.

I remained sprawled on the ground, feeling my old dog bite wound tear open again as blood began to seep through.

I didn’t care about my own pain, but Drew’s words about Amber infuriated me beyond measure.

Fighting Drew was like battling a mountain. I was completely outmatched.

Just then, my phone started buzzing.

My phone had fallen to the floor, and when I looked over, I saw Zain was calling.

I didn’t want to answer, but I picked up just before it went to voicemail.

Zain didn’t ask about my location. In a detached tone, he said, You’ll need to find your own way home. Everyone else is at the hospital.

I’ve already left. Something urgent came up.”

I knew he was rushing back to be with Carry and Joanna, but I had no idea how to respond.

I was speechless.

But as Drew’s vicious insults replayed in my head and I was about to say something, the call ended before I could get a word out.

I didn’t call back, I quietly pocketed my phone and pulled myself together.

After making sure I looked presentable, I finally left the hospital.

When I returned to the Callum Mansion, I found Amber sitting in the living room, apparently waiting for me or Quinton.

Every time I recalled Drew’s words, it felt like a knife twisting in my chest.

Amber was a wonderful person, and I would never believe Drew’s lies about her.

I paused outside the entrance, taking a few deep breaths to compose myself before walking in.

Amber heard my footsteps and looked up. When she saw me, her face brightened. Blanche, you’re home.

I approached with a smile and asked, Amber, why are you still awake so late?

Amber was dressed to go out. Usually by this time, she’d be freshened up and ready for bed.

Tonight, however, she hadn’t even changed into her nightgown.

Amber smiled and explained, Your brother’s pulling an allnighter at the office, so I thought I’d go check on him. I might not be back tonight, so could you help me take Camila to school tomorrow morning?

Given how late it was, I couldn’t help feeling concerned about Amber. Let me come with you,I said impulsively.

Amber noticed the worry on my face and gently touched my cheek. Don’t worry. I’ll be okay. Camila’s still here. If she wakes up and

we’re both gone, she’ll be scared.”

I tried again. Amber, I

Amber cut me off. That’s enough, I’m leaving now. Go upstairs, get cleaned up, and keep Camila company.

Seeing how determined Amber was, I gave up and didn’t press further.

After Amber left the living room, I lingered for a moment, still feeling uneasy. I couldn’t shake my concern, so I hurried after her.

When I reached outside the mansion, I caught Amber just as she was getting into a car.

Amber slid into the back seat, and as the car pulled away, I managed to see who was driving.

If I remembered correctly, I’d met this person before. He appeared to be Drew’s assistant.

Why would Amber be getting into Drew’s assistant’s car at this hour? I wondered, my thoughts racing.

Could Drew actually have been telling the truth? The idea struck me suddenly.

But that was impossible. I simply refused to believe it.

On my way back inside, I ended up calling Quinton.

When he answered, I asked, Quinton, are you coming home tonight?

There was a pause before Quinton responded, I’ll be extremely late.”

I’ll wait up for you, no matter how long it takes,” I said.

Quinton hesitated, then said firmly, Just go to sleep. Don’t wait for me.”

His tone was so final that I lost the courage to argue.

After hanging up, I stood there for a while, deep in thought.

I couldn’t understand why Amber would get into Drew’s assistant’s car so late at night.

But I trusted Amber. I was certain she would never be anything like what Drew had accused her of.

I returned to my room, and after my shower, I noticed a message from Amara.

It read, Blanche, someone forced Amber to drink.

There was also a photo attached.

The image showed a VIP room with Drew and several other men present.

I panicked and quickly messaged Amara back, Where is this? How did you get this photo?

Amara replied, I’ll send you the location. A friend of mine who works as a server took it. I spotted Amber there and got worried, so I

asked him to take a picture.”
