245 Chapter 245 Your Devoted
Servant
Blanche’s POVO
I heard Vincent’s words and gently pulled at his sleeve. “Vincent,” I said softly, “let me give you my blood.
Waiting for the blood bank will just eat up time we
don’t have.”
His expression turned stone–cold as he looked at me. “You’ve already sacrificed enough for my sake. Whatever you’re about to say, I won’t let you go through that again. You’re not donating.”
I shot him a frustrated look. “This is about saving a life, Vincent. You can’t be stubborn about this.”
He completely ignored me, turning to Demetrius instead. “Watch her.”
Without waiting for a response, Vincent walked away
with determined strides.
Seeing his resolve, I decided not to push the issue further.

Shortly after Vincent left, a nurse entered carrying an emergency blood supply.
I wanted to call Vincent back, but Demetrius held me back. “A–type blood is critically short. Even with this emergency supply, Lucia’s condition means she’ll likely need another transfusion. It’s better that Vincent donates directly.”
I considered this for a moment, then gave a small nod.
“You’re right.”
Demetrius had a point–Lucia would definitely need more blood.
Vincent returned before long.
I watched him emerge from the elevator, looking completely wiped out, his skin ghostly pale.
When I saw him stumble, I rushed forward and caught him just in time. “Are you alright?”
I realized Vincent had just given a significant amount of blood and had barely managed the walk back from the donation center.

If he was going to collapse, it would be straight into
my arms.
The moment I caught him, Vincent surrendered completely, letting his full weight fall against me.
Worried he might hit the floor, I quickly wrapped both arms around him to keep him upright.
Vincent leaned heavily into me, his voice dropping to a whisper near my ear. “Blanche, what am I going to do?”
Caught off guard, I didn’t understand what he meant. “What’s wrong?”
Vincent pressed his face against my cheek. “I think I’m falling even harder for you.”
With those words, he went limp in my arms.
I felt his body become dead weight, threatening to drag me down, and I knew I was about to lose my grip.
Demetrius rushed over just in time, catching Vincent before he could crash to the ground.
With the nurses helping, we quickly got Vincent into the ER observation room.

After a brief examination, the doctor confirmed Vincent had simply fainted from exhaustion.
I knew it was just the blood loss–nothing too serious.
Demetrius stood beside me, studying my face as I kept my eyes fixed on Vincent.
Noticing my worried expression, he finally spoke up. “Are you planning to leave soon?”
After weighing my options, I turned to Demetrius. “I want to stay and take care of him.”
Demetrius’s brow furrowed. “His family will be here shortly, and the medical staff can handle everything. He’s just weakened from the donation—there’s no real danger.”
Even though I knew he was right, I held firm. “He was
there when I needed him. I need to be here for him
now.”
Recognizing my determination, Demetrius said, “Then I’m not going anywhere either–I’ll stay with you.”
I looked at him with concern. “It’s getting late, Demetrius. You should go home.”

He shook his head firmly. “Not happening. I can’t leave
you
here alone. I’m staying, end of discussion.”
I tried convincing him to leave a few more times, but Demetrius remained unmoved, so I eventually gave up.
As I sat watching over Vincent, Demetrius’s phone suddenly buzzed.
He got up and moved to the window to answer it.
I couldn’t make out the caller’s words, but I heard Demetrius say, “I can’t get back there. Get someone else to cover it.”
I was genuinely shocked–it was unusual to hear Demetrius sound so sharp.
He ended the call with a cold expression, and when he turned back, he found me staring at him.
The moment our eyes met, Demetrius’s face quickly softened into a reassuring smile.
I smiled back, pressing my lips together before asking, “Is it something urgent?”
Demetrius answered straight. “There’s an emergency

surgery I’m supposed to perform.”
I studied his face with worry. “You’re really not going
back?”
After all, if they needed Demetrius specifically for the operation, it had to be critical.
If anyone else could handle it, they wouldn’t have bothered calling him.
Demetrius pocketed his phone without a word.
His silence told me everything I needed to know about his internal struggle.
Demetrius was only hesitating because of his concern. for me.
But if Demetrius didn’t go, no one else could manage the surgery.
He must be torn apart inside right now.
Not wanting him to carry that guilt, I said gently, “Demetrius, you need to go.”
I knew that was just who Demetrius was–if someone died because he chose not to show up, it would

torment him forever.
Even without my encouragement, I knew Demetrius would ultimately decide to go back.
But I could see his worry about leaving me here.
Demetrius looked at me hopefully. “Blanche, come with me–assist me with this surgery.”
I gave him a soft smile. “No, Demetrius, I’m staying here. Go handle your case, don’t keep them waiting.”
Seeing I wouldn’t budge, he let out a quiet sigh. “Fine, I’ll be back as soon as it’s over.”
I nodded and walked him all the way to the elevator.
When I returned to the ER observation room, I found Vincent stirring awake, his eyes unfocused and confused.
Seeing me walk through the doorway, Vincent instinctively pulled the blanket closer, his voice shaky. “I’m freezing”
Hearing this, I quickly moved to his bedside.
I leaned down and carefully adjusted the blanket

around him.
Just as I started to pull back, Vincent’s hand shot out and yanked me directly onto the bed with him.
In the same motion, he wrapped his arms around me, holding me tight.
My back pressed against his chest as his arms circled my waist, his fingers interlocking across my stomach.
Vincent rested his chin on top of my head, his voice low and raw. “Forget Zain. Let me love you instead.”
I tried to pull away, but couldn’t break free. Sighing in defeat, I said, “But Vincent, we’re heading in
completely different directions.”
Vincent’s grip tightened around me, his breath hot against my ear. “No, that’s not how it is. There’s no ‘we‘–just me. I’m yours, completely. Your devoted servant. I belong to you.”
His words made me struggle even harder to escape his
hold.
Feeling my resistance, Vincent only pulled me closer against his chest. “Blanche, I’m so cold. Please don’t

leave.”
At his desperate plea, I stopped fighting.
His body really was ice–cold—the chill seeped right through to my back.
I could tell Vincent had lost so much blood that he could barely stay awake, his mind foggy. I felt the immense effort it took him to hold me close, and as he did, I sensed some warmth finally beginning to creep back into his body.
Vincent’s warmth surrounded me, and I—already exhausted–felt drowsiness wash over me the moment
he pulled me close.
Before I realized it, I had fallen asleep.
Hearing my soft, steady breathing, Vincent couldn’t suppress a quiet chuckle.
