250 Chapter 250 Use The Front
Door
Zain’s POV
With that, I stepped into the main hall.
I headed to the kitchen, heated some milk, and took it
upstairs.
Once upstairs, I entered Carry’s room.
Carry lay on her bed, absorbed in a tablet game. When she heard my footsteps, she glanced up. “Dad, are you sleeping with me tonight?”
I considered it briefly, then nodded. “Sure, but first you need to answer something for me.”
Carry looked puzzled but agreed. “Okay, what is it?”
I handed her the warm milk.
“Who told you to say those things about Joanna at dinner?”
Carry paused for just a moment, then answered firmly,

“Mom did.”
I studied her eyes carefully. “You’re not lying to me?”
Carry shook her head. “Not at all.”
Hearing this, I finally felt some relief.
After watching her finish the milk, I said, “Time for bed now.”
Carry licked her lips, looking up at me. “Dad, where’s Miss Joanna?”
I replied, “Miss Joanna’s working on her experiments. She won’t be back for a few days.”
When Carry heard this, disappointment flickered across her face–but oddly, there was also a hint of
relief.
When the school tried calling home, they’d contacted me first, but I hadn’t answered. Then they called Joanna, but she didn’t pick up either.
Initially, Carry had thought maybe nobody cared about her anymore.
But once she learned the truth, all her day’s gloom

disappeared. She even whispered to herself, “So that’s why Miss Joanna didn’t answer the school’s call.”
I noticed her mood shift and said, “Since I have to leave really early tomorrow, Grandma Lillian will take you to kindergarten, alright?”
Carry immediately protested. “No, I want to stay home with Mr. Oswald.”
She seemed genuinely distressed by the suggestion, though I wasn’t sure if it was simply because she didn’t want to go to kindergarten or if there was something else bothering her about Lillian.
I sensed Carry’s distress and asked gently, “Is it that you don’t want to go to school?”
Carry shook her head with a small smile. “No way, my
classmates all like me.”
I exhaled softly. “That’s what I wanted to hear.”
I reached out to gently stroke her hair.
After tucking Carry in, I stood up and left the room.
As I closed the door, I couldn’t shake the feeling that

something was off. The way Carry had hesitated when I asked about school, the forced brightness in her voice when she claimed her classmates liked her–it all seemed too rehearsed. I suspected she might be struggling more than she was letting on, perhaps even dreading kindergarten. The thought gnawed at me, but I decided to address it another time when she might be more open.
Blanche’s POV
After finishing dinner, I was enjoying a foot soak right in the living room.
Just as I was relaxing, my phone chimed with a WhatsApp notification.
Thinking it might be work–related, I grabbed my phone to check.
But surprisingly, the message was from Zain.
Zain: “Don’t go saying random stuff around Carry.”
Confused, I sent back a question mark, thinking, ‘What’s he even talking about?‘

Zain: “No point explaining more. You know exactly
what I mean.”
I still didn’t understand, so I replied, “You’re insane!” feeling completely frustrated.
After the foot soak in the living room, I felt much more relaxed and refreshed.
I ignored Zain’s message–after the soak, I just headed upstairs.
I’d barely stepped into my bedroom when a sudden chill ran down my spine–then, without warning, a hand tapped my shoulder gently.
That single touch made my heart jump into my throat, and I instinctively screamed.
But instantly, a large hand covered my mouth, muffling
my scream.
I heard Quinton’s footsteps pounding up the stairs, and without hesitation, he burst through my door.
There he saw Vincent standing behind me, his hand clamped firmly over my mouth.

Vincent whipped his head toward the door the moment it flew open.
The second his eyes met Quinton’s, he instantly released me, like he’d been caught doing something
wrong.
At the same time, he straightened up stiffly, standing at attention as he called out respectfully, “Brother”
When Quinton saw it was Vincent, his expression immediately darkened.
I could tell Vincent sensed Quinton’s displeasure; his anxiety was palpable, and I noticed his breathing becoming more rapid.
I turned to look at Quinton, about to speak, but
Quinton spoke first. “Next time you visit, use the front door”
He was clearly addressing Vincent, his gaze fixed on him.
Vincent looked at Quinton with confusion, but Quinton maintained his cold expression. “No particular reason. I just don’t want you falling to your

death in our house.”
Even though Quinton’s words weren’t exactly kind, Vincent was genuinely grateful. “Thanks, Brother”
I stood right there between them, but it was like I was completely invisible–they just ignored me entirely.
Without another word, Quinton turned and headed
for the bedroom door.
Suddenly, Vincent called out, “Goodnight, Brother.”
Quinton didn’t bother looking back, just replied, “Mm.”
Just as Quinton was about to leave, Vincent quickly called, “Brother, could you close the door for us?”
I thought, ‘There’s no way Quinton’s actually going to listen to Vincent.‘
But to my amazement, Quinton actually did close the door behind him as he left.
In that moment, I was completely stunned–my mind. was in total chaos.
As soon as the door shut, Vincent spun me around and gripped my shoulders, practically vibrating with

excitement. “Blanche, did you see that? Your brother finally accepts me! He told me to use the front door from now on. I can actually visit you openly now–no more sneaking around!”
Vincent was beaming like a kid who just got his favorite toy.
I just stood there, confused and completely mixed up.
But the next second, Vincent leaned close, his voice soft and playful by my ear. “Blanche, your brother’s finally okay with me. What about you–when are you going to accept me?”
I was still spacing out, my mind spinning, but when I finally responded, my expression turned cold. “Vincent, you really shouldn’t come over anymore.”
Before I could say another word, Vincent swept me up and spun me around in circles, shouting at the top of his lungs, “Yes! I can finally use the front door!”
And as for my cold rejection, Vincent was so ecstatic he acted like he hadn’t heard a single word-
completely unfazed.

I could hear movement from next door–Quinton and Amber’s voices drifting through the wall, though I couldn’t make out their exact words. Whatever they were discussing, Quinton’s tone sounded unusually contemplative, which was rare for my typically stern brother.
