47 Chapter 47 My Wife And My Rival

Zain’s POV

When Drew received the video, Nicholas and I were seated across from him, discussing some project details.

After viewing the footage, Drew raised his head, staring at me with obvious shock.

Catching Drew’s look, I turned toward him. What’s the matter?

Drew rose and wedged himself between Nicholas and me. Simultaneously, he showed me the video.

While I watched the clip, Drew asked with bewilderment, Zain, can’t you keep her satisfied? Does she actually need two men at once to

get her fix?

After viewing the video, my expression remained composed, though internally, my feelings were a storm beneath the calm surface.

With Drew’s comments ringing in my ears, I found myself recalling what had transpired between Blanche and me in the bedroom.

Truthfully, our physical relationship wasn’t terribleI simply never lasted very long.

It wasn’t a matter of inability; I just preferred to finish quickly so I could spend time with Joanna and Carry.

Seeing that I remained silent, Drew grew bolder with his prying. Zain, seriously, did you really fail to please her?

I looked up, my icy stare cutting through Drew. I said nothing, but the sheer intensity of my presence silenced everyone.

Drew pretended to zip his mouth shut.

Yet Drew couldn’t contain himself. He leaned closer and pressed, Zain, honestly, after all this mess, you’re still not considering divorce?

I gave Drew an exasperated look and answered, No.

It wasn’t because I still loved Blanche; it was simply due to what Carry had said that dayshe wanted her mother, father, and Joanna to

all care for her together.

If I divorced, Carry would lose her intact family.

Drew couldn’t understand it. He wanted to push further, but Nicholas pulled his arm and said, Drew, drop it, okay? Nobody’s going to

miss you if you stay quiet for a while.”

But Drew grew more confused. I’m not mistaken, am I? Zain doesn’t even care for Blanche, and she’s cheating on him. Why keep such a

woman around? What’s he expecting, for her to wait on him or something?

Nicholas exhaled, Drew, this is Zain’s personal matter. Blanche is Carry’s mother. Just leave it alone.

Drew’s face reddened. Nicholas, are you really Zain’s friend? You actually enjoy watching your buddy get humiliated like this, don’t you?

Nicholas looked stunned momentarily.

I couldn’t stand it anymore. I snarled, That’s enough. All of you, shut up.”

With that, I stood and walked out of the private room.

Drew wanted to follow me, but Nicholas grabbed his arm and said, Drew, can you think for once?

Right, right, you’re the brilliant one and I’m the fool, is that what you want to hear?Drew snapped back.

Nicholas glared at him. You’re impossible.

With that, Nicholas also left the private room.

When I returned to Blissfield Villa, Carry was still awake, eating some fruit and drinking milk in the living room.

Seeing me enter, Carry quickly put on her slippers and ran to greet me. Hi, Daddy.”

I crouched down and softly touched her cheek. Why aren’t you asleep yet?

Carry said, I was waiting for you, Daddy.”

I lifted her up and carried her upstairs.

Carry wrapped her arms around my neck, sensing something was wrong. She whispered, Daddy, what’s the matter? Are you sad?

I was quiet for a moment before asking, Has your mommy called you recently?

When Carry heard this, her head dropped. Mommy hasn’t called me first in ages. When I call her, she either doesn’t answer, or if she

does, she just says she’s busy.

Hearing the sadness in my daughter’s voice, I felt an odd pain in my chest. I simply nodded quietly.

After carrying Carry to her bedroom, I told her, Carry, be good and go to sleep.

Carry blinked her large, round eyes and asked, Daddy, if I’m good and go to sleep, will Mommy call me?

I didn’t respond. I just stroked her cheek and said, Go to sleep.”

Carry nodded. Okay.”

It wasn’t until Carry was sound asleep that I finally got up and left the bedroom.

Back in the study, I stood by the floortoceiling window for a long while. I couldn’t shake the images from Drew’s phone from my mind.

Vincent had always been a business competitor of mine. We’d fought openly and covertly more times than I could remember.

There was probably only one person who could truly challenge me in the business world, and that was Vincent.

But even knowing Vincent was my sworn rival, Blanche still chose to get involved with him.

Naturally, I was furious. Like it or not, she was still my wife.

The more I brooded, the angrier I became. So I grabbed my phone and called Blanche.

The phone rang endlessly before she finally answered.

Do you need something?she said. She didn’t sound cautious or pleased like beforejust cold and detached.

I didn’t waste time with pleasantries. What are you doing?

Blanche clearly didn’t want to answer unnecessary questions. If you have something to say, just say it.”

I paused briefly, then threw out a random excuse. Carry said she wants your homemade soup for breakfast tomorrow

Blanche didn’t decline. Alright, I’ll give Heidi the recipe. She’ll make it for Carry when she wakes up.”

I narrowed my eyes, my furious face distorted in the glass reflection. My voice turned cold. That’s not the same, is it?

Meanwhile, Blanche was sitting in the passenger seat of Vincent’s car, taking the call.

Vincent leaned over, his gaze openly filled with desire for her. He smiled, lips curved, not bothering to conceal how he felt.

He kept staring, and before long, he was leaning in, taking a deep, intentional breath of Blanche’s fragrance.

Blanche sensed Vincent moving closer and instinctively pulled away, only to hit her head against the car roof. Ugh,she let out a muffled

sound of pain.

At the same time, Vincent leaned all the way in, completely trapping Blanche in the confined space.

He said nothing, just reached up and gently rubbed the spot on Blanche’s head where she’d struck it.

When he didn’t attempt anything else, Blanche finally remembered she still needed to speak with Zain. But before she could say a word,

the dial tone sounded in her ear.

Zain had hung up. To him, that little whimper from Blanche sounded exactly like the kind of sound people make when they’re being

intimate.

He thought to himself that he had just called at the worst possible moment.

After Zain hung up, Blanche didn’t bother calling back. She looked at Vincent’s face in the dim light and said, Mr. Aarav, please control

yourself.”

Vincent didn’t retreat. Instead, he gently lifted her chin with his hand, his intense eyes gazing into her sparkling ones. His voice was low

and seductive, almost drawing her in. What’s the matter? Don’t you enjoy it?

Blanche pushed him away. I’m leaving. She hurriedly reached for the door handle. She thought she never should have come here

tonight.

She knew Vincent was dangerous, but she came anyway.

But Vincent caught her hand and turned her to face him. There’s a fivestar hotel nearbycompletely private. You could be as loud as

you want, and nobody would hear a thing

Blanche’s face flushed bright red, her ears burning.

She glared at Vincent. You’re shameless.”

Vincent just laughed. Isn’t that exciting? Are you certain you don’t want to experience it with me?
