Floyd raised his hand to interrupt him, his sharp gaze sweeping over Zeus before he said indifferently, "I've seen his resume. You don't need to explain all that. You can go now."
The middleman was relieved to be dismissed and quickly backed out. Before leaving, he signaled Zeus to perform well and strive to join their team soon.
After the door closed, the room fell into a brief silence.
"Lei... Leilani... Why are you here?"
Perhaps because Floyd was present, Zeus didn't dare to be too obvious. Unlike his usual tone, he softened his voice and asked Leilani in surprise. After all, he had just made such a huge mistake; he had to say something to salvage his image in front of Mr. Dillon.
Hearing Zeus call Leilani by name, Floyd frowned, his gaze shifting between the two. He asked in confusion, "You know each other?"
Looking at Leilani's attitude, he felt her relationship with this Zeus wasn't very good. In the time he had known Leilani, this was the first time he had seen her so cold toward someone she knew.
Seeing Floyd ask, Zeus was afraid Leilani would expose him right there. He spoke up before she could, explaining his relationship with her to Floyd.
"I am Leilani's brother. Leilani hasn't contacted the family for a long time, so I was a little surprised to see her here."
Leilani slowly set down her cup, listening to his explanation. Her eyes were dark, but she didn't expose Zeus, which made him let out a sigh of relief.
"Brother?" Floyd paused, then realized, looking at Zeus with interest. "Leilani's medical skills are superb. Since you are her brother, you must be even smarter and more outstanding?"
Zeus wanted to argue logically, but Floyd tapped the table impatiently.
"What, do you have an objection? Aren't you Leilani's brother? Why are you so afraid of facing your own sister as an interviewer? It's not because your skills are inferior, is it?"
Floyd stared at Zeus with suspicious eyes. He was thinking that there were very few people in the whole country as young and skilled as Leilani. It would be normal if Zeus couldn't compare to her. A family couldn't produce two geniuses, after all.
Zeus's chest heaved violently, his fists clenched tight. He could see Floyd's impatience. From the moment he saw Leilani, he had already foreseen how disastrous this interview would be.
He turned, wanting to leave, but this interview opportunity was something he had exhausted all his efforts to obtain.
