The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 773

The shareholders who were close to Hackett exchanged nervous glances, entirely unsure of what was happening.

A few minutes later, Hackett finally rushed in. He looked completely haggard, his face pale and drawn.

When he saw Fitch sitting right next to the head chair, his brows furrowed deeply. He didn't say a word, merely pulling out the chairman's seat with a grim expression.

"Everyone," Hackett began, clearing his dry, raspy throat. "I called this emergency meeting today to update you on the recent changes regarding the company's equity..."

"Mr. Sloan." Fitch suddenly interrupted, his voice smooth but laced with an absolute, undeniable authority. "I believe it would be much more appropriate if I were the one to explain the current equity situation."

What was Fitch playing at? This was the Sloan Group, not Sherwood territory!

The entire boardroom fell dead silent. Every single pair of eyes snapped toward Fitch.

Hackett whipped his head around, his face turning an ugly shade of purple. "Fitch, what the hell is the meaning of this? This is my boardroom! I am the Chairman of this company!"

Unfazed, Fitch calmly accepted a sleek folder from his lawyer, slid it across the table toward Hackett, and smiled faintly.

"Mr. Sloan, according to the latest equity registry, I currently hold a combined fifty-two percent of Sloan Group's shares. Therefore, according to the corporate bylaws, I am now the controlling shareholder of this company."

He paused, his gaze sweeping over the dumbfounded board members before landing back on Hackett’s ashen face. A look of smug triumph spread across his features.

"Which means I should be the one chairing today's meeting. And you... well, you won't be the Chairman for much longer."
