The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 872

After signing the forms, Gloria offered the nurse a polite, tight smile and handed over the clipboard.

"The signatures and stamps are all done. Thank you for your help."

The nurse gave a courteous shake of her head. "Just doing my job."

Glancing around the room at the three of them, she quickly read the room, took the papers, and excused herself.

"Since the discharge is all set, I'll leave you to it."

"Take your time packing up."

Gloria quickly agreed, her composure returning so flawlessly that no one would have guessed she had been on the verge of an emotional breakdown just moments before.

As soon as the door clicked shut, a heavy silence settled over the room once again.

Yvonne immediately jumped into action. With a bright smile, she sidled up to Gloria and looped her arm through her mother’s, desperate to cut through the lingering melancholy.

"Oh, come on, what's with all the heavy drama?"

"You guys are gonna make me cry."

Her brother was sitting right there, alive and well. Since they had already made their choices and figured out their next steps, there was no point in wallowing in the past.

Yvonne hated that kind of energy.

"Alright, no more doom and gloom. We need to look on the bright side and focus on the good things ahead."

"Since Dad made his choice, we're just going to respect it, wish him the best, and let him ride off into the sunset with his precious company. The three of us are going to have a great life together."

Without giving either of them a chance to reply, she immediately started bustling around, ushering them to pack. She was determined to use sheer momentum to drag them out of their slump.
