The Real Heiress's New Family Adored By All novel Chapter 108

Chapter 108 Am I That Good-Looking?

Leighton closed his eyes, his fists tightly clenched at his sides.

“Are you close with Jensen?” Zora asked.

“Yeah, we’ve known each other for years.”

All the elder family members were on familiar terms, and the younger generation had grown up knowing one another well. Jensen was a few years older than him, so they hadn’t spent much time together as kids. It was only in high school that their paths aligned-Leighton had skipped grades and ended up in the same class as Jensen.

At first, Jensen took care of the younger Leighton out of kindness, and their friendship only grew stronger from there.

They later majored in Finance together in college, becoming extremely close.

It was precisely because of this bond that Jensen felt fully comfortable letting Zora stay around Leighton.

“I see. You’re an amazing cook. Your future wife will definitely love your food.” Zora went on.

“I told you, I’m not looking for a wife anytime soon. If you like what I make, I’ll cook for you again next time.”

The quiet stillness of the space hung thick in the air, and idle chatter eased the quiet resistance weighing on his heart. Leighton answered every question she asked without hesitation.

Listening to her soft voice drift down to his ears, his frayed nerves, worn thin from days of poor rest, slowly unwound and relaxed.

“Mhm,” Zora murmured, noticing how he’d gradually relaxed.

“Zora, since you live right below me, my door code is 8613. If you need anything, just come up. Tomorrow I’ll add your fingerprint to the lock, so you can walk in whenever you want.”

Zora had fallen quiet, yet Leighton found himself talking more than usual-chatty in a way he didn’t even realize.

Normally, people were the ones to start conversations with him. He’d only reply if the topic interested him, and would shut everyone out with a cold look whenever he was in a bad mood.

But with Zora, who was even more reserved than he was, silence would just stretch on if he didn’t speak first.

It wasn’t that she was being aloof; she simply never knew what to say.

“That’s not necessary…” Zora refused in a calm, gentle tone.

This encounter was just a coincidence. He was always swamped with work. From what Jensen had said, he often came home late and even stayed over at his office most nights. They’d only crossed paths by chance this time, and she’d never have any reason to drop by unannounced on ordinary days.

“Let me add your fingerprint. It’ll put my mind at ease. I’d hate for you to need me someday when I’m not home, or miss your doorbell, leaving you stuck outside with no way in,” Leighton insisted.

Zora fell silent and said nothing in reply.

“When’s your birthday?” Leighton asked, watching her look like a timid little quail.

“July twenty-eighth,” Zora replied.

July twenty-eighth… that day had already passed.

Leighton lowered his gaze, falling quiet for a long moment.

A hush settled over the living room.

Zora glanced up at him. Up close, he was impossibly stunning.

His skin was smooth. Every feature was exquisitely sculpted, his facial contours as precise as if carved with a ruler-flawless in every detail.

His eyebrows were perfectly shaped, neither too thick nor too thin.

His eyelashes were long and delicate.

He had a tall, straight nose dotted with a tiny beauty mark that added a unique charm.

His lips were slim and well-defined, naturally tinted a soft crimson without any lipstick.

He was utterly flawless.

Both his bone structure and delicate features were breathtakingly beautiful.

He was only the second person Zora had ever seen with such perfect looks, the first being her

mentor.

Her mentor was extraordinarily handsome too.

Studying his features up close filled Zora with quiet contentment.

Well… Giving someone a massage has such a nice little perk. How lovely.

“Am I that good-looking?” Leighton suddenly lifted his eyes to meet her gaze.

“You’re very beautiful.” Zora showed no trace of embarrassment at being caught staring, speaking to him with complete sincerity.

“You can’t call a man beautiful. That word isn’t used for guys.” Leighton let out a helpless smile at her earnest little face.

Only she would dare stare at him so openly and say he was beautiful without a hint of awkwardness.

He couldn’t help wondering how Jensen had raised her to misuse words like that.

“But you really are beautiful-even prettier than most girls.”

Zora couldn’t understand why the word didn’t suit him; his looks were undeniably beautiful.

Since coming to Seacrest, she’d met plenty of attractive people. Everyone in her class was good-looking, and her cousins were handsome as well. But few could compare to Leighton’s extraordinary beauty.

She used to tell her mentor he was beautiful too. At first, he tried to stop her, but eventually, he gave up correcting her.

Mentor’s inner thought: …That’s only because I realized you’re impossible to correct.

Leighton fell momentarily speechless, then sighed and relented, “Fine, men aren’t usually called beautiful, but you can say it to me. Just keep it between us,-others would take offense if you said that to anyone else.”

He saw the unwavering sincerity in her eyes and chose to compromise.

Whatever. If she wouldn’t change, so be it.

“Okay.” Zora nodded obediently. She would never say such a thing to strangers anyway.

“Good girl.” A faint smile tugged at Leighton’s lips, bringing vivid warmth to his stunning features.

Zora watched him quietly. His smile is so pretty.
