Chapter 134 Malicious Rumors Flood the Campus Forum
“Finished your homework yet? Want me to walk you through it?”
Maya’s voice sounded faint and frail, far softer than usual.
Zora frowned.
“Are you feeling sick?”

Maya froze, caught off guard by the straightforward question, and subconsciously pulled her neck further into her collar.
“I’m fine.” She shook her head lightly.
“Ugh, can you believe this? People are whitewashing Jolie all over the campus forum again.”
After two straight classes came the long morning break. As seniors, they barely had free time to wander around campus. Bored and needing something to clear his head, Easton pulled up the school’s campus forum on his phone.
One look was all it took to jolt him wide awake.
Somehow, discussions defending Jolie were blowing up all over the forum again.
Everyone nearby pulled out their phones to check what he was talking about.
A single post stayed pinned at the very top, titled, “Instances of Zora Bullying Jolie Merely for Being the Biological Daughter.”
It listed one fabricated incident after another, painting Zora as cruel to Jolie while living at the Knox Villa.

Dozens of such made-up accusations filled the post.
The narrative painted Jolie as a gentle girl pushed past her limit, finally finding the courage to stand up for herself. Zora, by contrast, was framed as a scheming troublemaker who tore the family apart.
[Wow… Zora isn’t nearly as innocent as she acts. All these stories make her sound so spoiled and reckless.]
[Jolie was bullied by Zora for ages. Why wouldn’t she fight back? I’d do the exact same thing in her place.]
[Jolie was clearly nervous about going to the pool. Who knows if Zora lured her there just to provoke a fight and set her up?]
[Everyone knows the Knox family spoils Jolie rotten. They only got one birthday cake for the party last time, and it’s obvious Zora’s just eaten up with jealousy. She set up a whole scheme to frame Jolie on purpose. Jolie saw right through her plot and tried to turn it back on her, only to get caught in Zora’s trap instead. It’s ridiculous how everyone’s so gullible—they watch a few clipped video clips and let themselves get fooled completely. After getting wrongfully accused so many times, doesn’t Jolie have every right to defend herself once?]
[You have to hand it to Zora-she knows how to play the victim. That quiet act sure won sympathy from the Marlow family. She’s way more manipulative than she looks.]
[I can’t believe this! I actually felt bad for Zora before, and now it turns out she’s this kind of person.]
[Am I the only one who thinks this feels off? Every time someone targets Zora online, we end up finding out it’s all fake and getting proven wrong. Now it’s happening all over again, like someone’s dead set on ruining her reputation. What if this is another misunderstanding? We’ll all look ridiculous once the truth comes out.]
This lone skeptical comment quickly drowned beneath thousands of furious replies.
The entire forum had swung firmly to Jolie’s side, flooding every thread with accusations against Zora.
Some believed the lies wholeheartedly, others stayed doubtful-yet nearly all public opinion turned sharply against Zora.

Unaware of the chaos swirling online, Zora had headed to the restroom.
Stepping inside, she caught quiet, muffled whimpers and soft, shaky sobs.
The voice sounded exactly like Maya’s.
Zora tightened her grip on the tube of herbal ointment in her hand.

The noises from inside one stall fell silent, likely because Maya had heard someone walk in.
Zora opened a stall door, waited a moment, then opened it again. The sound of an automatic flush came from the other stall, followed by the sound of footsteps leaving.
Soon, the stall door was opened. Zora stood quietly off to the side, hidden out of sight. There were barely any other girls from their grade on this floor, so the restroom stayed nearly empty.
She watched as Maya brushed her long hair aside from her neck and unbuttoned the top of her blouse, revealing faint red marks streaked across her skin.
As the loose cuff of her sleeve slipped down her arm before she could fasten it back up, dark purple bruises were clearly visible winding along her wrist.
