Chapter 143 A Total Genius

The Frost family was a prominent name in Seacrest. Though they could not rival the city’s top- tier clans, their influence still ran deep enough to command respect.
Even the Knoxes dared not act rashly against them for the time being.
When the full truth landed on their phones, every member of the Knox family was left tangled in raw emotion, worn thin, and unsure how to clean up the mess that had unraveled.
No one had imagined Jolie was behind everything.
The shock was too much for Wendy; she fainted on the spot.
Yale’s mind drifted back to what Hallie had warned him not long ago-that Jolie planned to strike at Zora once more.
He’d thought his warning would make her back down, yet she’d landed them in an irreversible catastrophe.
With Jolie’s matter settled and a full morning of classes behind them, the group caught wind of Tessa’s situation on their way to the cafeteria.
“I told you Tessa would end up burned by Jolie sooner or later. Jolie’s definitely not coming back to school for a good while now.”
Easton sighed heavily at the news.
None of them had expected Tessa’s condition to be this serious.
Nor could they fathom Jolie capable of such cruelty.
Tessa had always stood loyally by Jolie, and for her to be shoved down a flight of stairs by the very person she’d defended left them all stunned.
“Honestly, we’re indirectly tied to this too. We ought to go check on her after school,” Easton said, a flicker of guilt in his voice as he turned to Felix.
Felix nodded quietly in agreement.
They’d left the scene long before the incident, and they hadn’t laid a hand on Tessa-but they still shared some connection to it all.
Perhaps if they hadn’t spoken up, Jolie wouldn’t have been pushed to such an extreme.
They’d only spoken out because they couldn’t stand Jolie’s attitude, yet they’d never guessed

how twisted and reckless she could be. Word even spread that she’d slapped Tessa across the face.
“I warned her long ago that Jolie was bad news, but she wouldn’t listen,” Hallie muttered irritably. “Jolie could even set her own family up; what’s a girl she’s only known for two months to her?”
She’d told Tessa time and again that Jolie was no one to trust, yet Tessa had stayed blindly devoted anyway.
Hallie had known Tessa for over a decade. They’d never been close, but they’d crossed paths plenty of times. Tessa had spent most of her life overseas, gentle and easygoing by nature.
Before meeting Jolie, she’d always been someone simple to get along with.
But somehow Jolie had found a way to get close to Tessa, and ever since then, Tessa had stood firmly by her side.
The group sat weighed down by heavy hearts, their expressions grim.
Zora ate silently, listening to them talk without uttering a word.
She’d only met Tessa twice, and Tessa sat firmly on her list of people to watch out for. Even so, news of what had happened left her with no sense of satisfaction.
She wondered if there was any way she could help…
Tessa was innocent, never truly having harmed Zora in any real way. Zora hated seeing an innocent person dragged into the mess between her and Jolie.

“Eat more,” Maya said softly. Noticing Zora’s plate had no side dishes left, she reached over to serve her some.
Zora gave a soft nod in reply.
“Hey Maya, you were incredible today! That skill of yours is basically professional-level hacking. We had no idea you could do something like that.”
Easton’s eyes lit up with obvious admiration as he turned his attention to Maya.
The others at the table all looked over too.
What Maya had pulled off earlier had left them utterly amazed.
“I taught myself,” Maya said serenely.
She’d put her glasses back on, looking quiet and refined as she carefully picked every tiny bone from a piece of fish before placing it onto Zora’s plate, unfazed by their curiosity.

Easton stared in awe. “That’s insane!”

“Truly impressive,” Felix remarked.
“You’re a total genius,” Hallie said, eyes wide as she gave Maya a thumbs-up.
No wonder she was the top student. She picked this up perfectly all on her own.
They’d been classmates for two whole years, never once suspecting Maya had this hidden ability.
For a split second, the three of them mentally scrambled to make sure they’d never crossed her.
With hacking skills that good, she could easily dig up every embarrassing secret on their phones if she wanted to-and everyone had something mortifying hidden in their devices.
Maya didn’t belong to their social circle and hadn’t grown up with them. The school had scouted her from another city to boost their academic reputation, before Clark transferred her into their class to help boost their overall grades.
Her grades had always been impossibly outstanding over the past two years. Anyone struggling before final exams only needed to ask her for study pointers to scrape by with a passing grade.
It was why their class trusted and admired her so deeply already—and today’s display only amplified their awe.
“Relax, I’m not that bored. I have no desire to end up in jail.” Maya glanced at them plainly, catching their speculative stares.
She’d only acted out today because she was angry.

“Speaking of that-you accessed the Knox Villa’s security footage today. Are you going to get into trouble?”
