Chapter 150 Homemade Treats
“Zora, look at those dark circles under your eyes-you look just like a panda.”
Easton grinned the second he spotted her tired eyes.

Even with heavily shadowed lids, Zora still looked lovely. Far from being an eyesore, they actually added a touch of adorable charm to her face.
Maya bit back a laugh as she watched her too.
Zora stared silently at them.
She had seen what panda eyes looked like online. Realizing she now had huge dark circles of her own, she instantly wanted a mirror to check.
“Here you go, Princess Panda.”
Felix must have read her mind. He pulled a small mirror out of nowhere and held it up in front of her face.
Zora stared at her reflection. Her skin was flawless, but deep purple shadows lingered beneath her eyes, almost as if someone had punched her. Still, her pretty features kept her from looking ugly.
She’d stayed up until one in the morning the night before finishing the vitality pills. They needed a full day of baking to set. Once she got home, she would coat them with a sweet candy shell, package them up nicely, and give them to Leighton to take regularly.
“Did you not sleep well last night?”
Maya stepped aside to let Zora sit down, her tone warm with concern.
“I stayed up a little late.”
Zora shook her head and handed her a small jar.
“Use this. You’ll be better in no time.”
It held a jar of White Jade Balm Zora had made a few days earlier. She’d originally planned to give it to Hallie, but Maya needed it more right now. She could prepare another jar for Hallie later, and one for her godmother too.
She’d noticed how much Hallie liked the balm, and vaguely heard her mention her mother loved similar herbal skincare as well-she could make one jar for each of them.
Maya recognized the jar at once; it was the same ointment Zora had put on her injuries the day before.

“I’m already almost fully healed,” Maya said.

The ointment worked incredibly well. Her wounds were nearly gone, and maybe because she’d gotten hurt so many times before, her body always recovered quickly.
“Just keep it anyway.”
Zora didn’t take it back.
“Zora…”
Maya pulled a small box out of her desk drawer and handed it over.
Inside were three cream rolls. Zora opened the box, and her eyes lit up instantly.
Matcha, original flavor, and chocolate-they looked absolutely delicious.
“You can’t have cream, so I used yogurt instead,” Maya explained.
She’d heard from Hallie the day before that Zora was allergic to cream. She was glad she hadn’t made any cream-based desserts for her earlier.
“Thank you, Maya.” Zora took the box happily.
Ever since sitting next to Maya, Zora got to enjoy all kinds of homemade treats every morning.
“Hey Maya, what about us?”
Į
Easton caught the sweet scent drifting over from the front row. He turned around, pointed to himself, then to Felix.
“Fine, here.”
Maya pulled another small box from her drawer and passed it over. It only had two original- flavor rolls inside.
“Nice! Hurry up, Felix, let’s split these.”
Easton laughed brightly and handed one to Felix.
Maya’s baking skill was easily on par with professional pastry chefs, maybe even better.
She just didn’t bake often, and they’d never thought he’d get to enjoy them just by being around
Zora.
Zora picked up the chocolate roll and took a bite. It had crispy butter layers tucked inside, rich and perfectly sweet. Her eyes curved into a content smile.

Maya really was an amazing cook.
“Is there anything else you want to try? I can make it for you tomorrow.”
Maya looked at Zora, her usually calm eyes softening with warmth.
“Cheese cakes and chocolate lava tarts.”
Zora had seen tons of tasty desserts scrolling online the night before and named the two she craved most.
“Alright, I’ll bring them tomorrow.”
Maya’s lips curved into a faint smile, her tone soft and indulgent.
“Did you get stuck on any of yesterday’s homework? I can explain it to you,” she asked again with a gentle smile.
“Yeah, loads of questions confused me.”
The mention of homework pulled a frown onto Zora’s face.
At least school break started the next day-no more boring classes for a while.
She pulled out her workbook, and Maya slid her chair closer. Her quiet, gentle voice drifted softly through the classroom as she explained each problem.
Clark walked past the classroom and saw the students studying hard. A faint smile appeared on his face.
Class 19 might not have the best grades, but every kid here had a kind heart.
At noon, the five of them left campus to eat at a small diner. After ordering their meals, Easton brought up what had happened with Tessa.
“We went to visit Tessa yesterday. She’s out of the intensive care unit now. The doctor said she’s stable, but she hit her head pretty badly. Internal bruising is pressing on her nerves, which is why she still hasn’t woken up.”
Right after school the previous day, their parents had taken them to apologize to Tessa’s family.
None of them was directly at fault. Tessa had been fine when they left, and no one expected Jolie to lash out so suddenly. Tessa had always treated Jolie wholeheartedly, yet Jolie had slapped her without a second thought.

Sull, given they’d made an appearance shortly before the incident, it felt only right to check in
on Tessa
