Chapter 216 A Sincere Gratitude
Zora had just reached the sink to wash her hands when she spotted Tessa standing right outside.
“Is there something you need?”

Zora finished washing her hands and held them under the hand dryer, speaking slowly in a calm tone.
She had felt someone staring at her nonstop during class, and she was certain it was Tessa.
It was clear the girl had come looking for her on purpose.
Zora guessed Tessa might still side with Jolie and try to pick on her. If that was really her intention, Zora would never back down.
“Zora, thank you.”
Tessa looked at her defensive gaze, a trace of bitterness crossing her lips as she bowed to her.
“Huh?”
Zora was utterly confused.
Why was she thanking her? Did Tessa figure out that she was the one who saved her?
It made sense. Even while unconscious, people could retain faint awareness. She wondered if Tessa had overheard her soft whispers back then.
“I know you’re the one who saved me.”
Tessa’s words confirmed Zora’s guess.
While lying unconscious, she had heard a familiar voice beside her ear, and she never expected it to belong to Zora.
Deep down, Tessa felt utterly heartbroken over what Jolie had done. She had always treated Jolie wholeheartedly, yet she ended up getting pushed down the stairs in return.
That slap and the brutal fall had completely wiped out all the friendship she once held for Jolie.
She chose to drop all charges against Jolie partly to repay her for giving her the healing balm before, yet she knew they could never go back to being close friends again.
“Kian was the one who performed your surgery.”
“We will repay the Marlow family.” The Frost family had already sent a thank-you gift to the

“If you ever need any help in the future, the Frost family will spare no effort to repay you.”
Tessa looked straight at her with sincere earnestness.
“Got it,” Zora replied indifferently.
She had never planned to let the Frost family find out the truth, yet now that Tessa knew everything, she had no reason to turn down such a valuable favor.
Her mentor had always told her to claim what she deserved. The world ran on mutual favors, and having more connections would only bring her more advantages.
“What are you doing following Zora around?”
Hallie showed up the moment they stepped out of the restroom.
After class ended, Hallie had been called over by their teacher to discuss the Thanksgiving- themed classroom poster, while Maya stayed behind to collect homework assignments.
Neither of them could accompany Zora, and once they finished their tasks, they noticed Tessa was nowhere to be seen.
Worried that the two might get into an argument, Hallie hurried over as fast as she could.
Everyone knew how devoted Tessa used to be toward Jolie. She would satisfy every single wish Jolie had without hesitation.
Even after Jolie nearly cost her her life, Tessa still chose to let it go easily. It proved how deep their bond was.
Gentle and kind-hearted as Zora was, Hallie feared she would never be a match for Tessa.
“You have nothing to worry about. I would never hurt her.”
Tessa’s expression dimmed a little under Hallie’s wary gaze.
“It’s hard to tell. You always lose your senses whenever Jolie is involved. Let’s head back now.”
Hallie had never held such a cold attitude toward Tessa before, yet she could not stand seeing her forgive Jolie so easily.
If someone had tried to harm her like that, she would never let them get away unscathed.
She grabbed Zora’s wrist and pulled her away without another word.

Tessa stood rooted to the spot, watching their retreating figures with obvious envy welling up in
her heart.
“Zora, what did Tessa want from you? She left a gift box on your desk too. This can’t be anything good, right?” Easton asked the second they walked back into the classroom.
The neatly wrapped present sat plainly on Zora’s desk, looking quite expensive at first glance.
“It’s nothing. Just keep it.”
Zora glanced at the gift casually.
It was only right for her to accept rewards after treating someone’s injury.
She had no personal use for this present anyway, and she could either sell it or give it away later.
“Zora… we shouldn’t take things from bad people. If you like that, I’ll buy it for you,” Hallie said.
She was determined to keep Zora well cared for and never let her be swayed by small favors from others.
“Don’t worry, Hallie. This is just a thank-you gift for saving her life.”
Zora quickly explained to ease her friends’ worries.
“Whoa, Zora, are your medical skills really that amazing?”
Easton leaned in cautiously, glancing around at their classmates before lowering his voice.
Zora had asked them to keep this matter a secret and not spread it around.
No one would ever guess that such a soft-looking, sweet girl was actually a talented healer.
They knew quite well about Tessa’s condition. Countless doctors had been helpless against it, yet Zora simply made a few swift moves and eased away the blood stasis.
It instantly cut the difficulty of the surgery in half.
