Chapter 220 Customized Snacks Only for You
Leighton gestured toward the few remaining treats on the table to argue his point.
There were chocolate cookies, cheese sticks, milk tablets…

“I want potato chips, crispy puffs, fries, gummy candies…” Zora counted off every snack she craved on her fingers.
“If I let you have them, will you stop being mad at me?”
Her tone was filled with obvious grievance, looking as if she had suffered a huge wrong. Her little pout was so endearing that anyone would feel the urge to comfort her right away.
Even the way she counted on her fingers was adorable.
“You never let me have any anyway.” Zora let out a soft huff.
Unaware of it herself, she looked both proud and relaxed.
She could not figure out why she acted so spoiled here. This was not even her own place, and she had not known Leighton for long, yet she already felt completely at ease around him.
“Did I really make you upset? Will these make it up to you?”
Leighton chuckled and set down the bags in his hands.
He loved seeing Zora show her genuine little moods like this.
She grew more and more relaxed in front of him day by day, no longer keeping her former reserve and distance.
“What is it?” Zora asked, pretending to look over casually.
“Did you bring me snacks?” Colorful snack wrappers caught her eyes instantly. She sat up straight, pushed her plush doll aside, and shifted closer.
She reached into the bag and pulled out a pack of potato chips, her eyes sparkling with pure joy as she stared straight at him.
Leighton gently ruffled her hair with a warm smile on his face. “Would you stay mad if I kept all these from you?”
After learning from the doctor that Zora needed to limit her snack intake, Leighton knew she would definitely feel upset about it. He had made arrangements overnight to get a private food factory to specially customize snacks just for her.
All the recipes were carefully developed by professional nutritionists to ensure they contained

Rather than buying ordinary snacks from stores that worried him, he preferred having treats made exclusively for her.
“I’m not mad at all,” Zora blinked quickly and firmly denied it.
She was just in a bad mood, that was all, and she refused to let him blame it on anger.
“Fine, you weren’t mad.” Leighton indulged her fully.
“I had these made in a private factory just for you. You can eat them without worry, but still keep it moderate. Only one pack per day for now. We only finished developing these flavors, and I will get more varieties ready soon.”
“You’re so good,” Zora murmured softly in a sweet voice, wearing a bright, happy smile.
“Is that all it takes to earn my good person badge? If anyone lures you away just with some snacks, I will be heartbroken,” Leighton teased gently.
He thought she was far too easy to please, and could not help worrying that she might be taken advantage of by others who simply offered her nice food and little gifts.
“Tell me anything you want, and I will get it for you. Promise me you won’t accept gifts from other boys.” Leighton bent down and lightly pinched the soft flesh on her cheeks.
She had lost a little weight from all the recent troubles, and he planned to take good care of her to get her back in good shape.
“Why not?” Zora had already opened the chips and popped a piece into her mouth.
“Because you are too lovely, and there are plenty of bad guys out there. They might trick you away, and then you won’t get to stay with me or have the meals I cook for you. They won’t give you anything good to eat,” Leighton spoke in a coaxing tone.
“You are a boy too,” Zora pointed out plainly.
She was practically lured back here by his delicious cooking after all. In that case, was he not counted as one of those bad guys?
“…I’m different. I’m absolutely trustworthy, you can always rely on me,” Leighton smiled warmly at her quick wit.
“Okay,” Zora replied softly.
The young man in front of her had delicate features, soft hair, and distinct facial lines. His slender eyes held gentle smiles, making him incredibly charming and easy for people to trust.

“Can I still take things from my cousins?” Zora wanted to touch his eyes again and stared at them longingly.
“You can accept things from Jensen and the others, but don’t trust other boys at school too easily.”
He knew for sure the Marlow brothers would definitely come to argue with him if they heard he was keeping Zora from taking their gifts.
“Got it.” Zora nodded obediently.
“Go rest for a while. I’m going to start cooking now, and no more extra snacks after this pack.”
“I want meat for dinner.” Zora looked up at him with bright watery eyes.
“Sure thing,” Leighton answered in amusement.
After Leighton walked into the kitchen, Zora ate her snacks, and her mood lightened up greatly. Even her slight stomach discomfort faded away.
She slipped on her slippers and followed him into the kitchen.
“Are you still afraid I might fool you?” Leighton had just taken out prepared chicken to rinse, and turned around to see her walking in, a tender smile spreading across his face.
“…No. I just wanted to give you a chip.”
