Chapter 30 She Had Received a Gift ‘Too
That boy just didn’t realize it yet.
Opal was already looking forward to watching the drama unfold.
She wanted to see how the Knox family would ever win Zora back.
“Zora, you stay here with me as long as you want. This will always be your home.”
Opal took Zora’s hand and spoke slowly, seriously.
“As long as I’m alive, I’ll protect you. No one will hurt you again.”

After seeing how her daughter and grandson treated Zora, Opal couldn’t even imagine how Zora had suffered at the Knox Villa.
‘Grandma…”
Zora pressed her lips together, flustered by Opal’s gentle, pitying gaze.
Since coming to Seacrest, Opal was the only one who stood up for her.
Even her own mother, who claimed to love her, always took Jolie’s side. Whenever something happened between Zora and Jolie, Wendy never believed Zora.
Zora sometimes wondered-was she really that unworthy of trust?
Did they love Jolie that much more?
She knew the truth. They didn’t believe her because they didn’t love her. They loved Jolie, so they refused to think she could do wrong.
Zora knew she was quiet, slow, and awkward. She didn’t know how to sweet-talk or charm people.
Only her mentor and the people in Maplewood had ever accepted her. No one in Seacrest would.
‘Zora, I care about you. You don’t have to hold back here. I’ll take care of everything for you.”
Seeing Zora’s uncertainty and loneliness, Opal pulled her into a hug.
“Thank you, Grandma.”
Zora hesitated, then gently wrapped her arms around Opal’s waist.
In that moment, she truly meant it.
Whether Opal meant it forever or not, the warmth she felt right now was real.
Zora felt nothing for the Knox family, but for this woman who protected her, she sincerely wished her a long healthy life. She would protect her too.

Chapter 30-She Had Received a Gift Too
“Grandina, Zora-what are you two talking about?”
Jensen walked in, smiling at the hug

“I told Zora she’s staying here, not going back with your aunt. They’re terrible to her. Next time you see those brothers, you tell them exactly what I think-no holding back.”
Opal was still furious.
She knew they were foolish, but not this blind. It made her blood boil.
Jensen had heard from Paul that the Knox family had visited, He’d rushed inside, worried Zora was upset.
He looked her over. Her face was calm, not angry-but when she glanced at Opal, her eyes softened.
The cold, distant stranger who’d first arrived was gone, replaced by someone who felt like she belonged.
“Okay, Grandma. I will.”
Jensen meant it. He’d definitely lecture the Knox brothers next time.
“What are you hiding behind your back?” Opal noticed.
‘I passed a store on the way home. They had cute dolls, and I thought Zora might like one.”
Jensen pulled his hand around, holding a soft, fluffy plushie.
“Zora… hope you like it.”
He held it out to her.
‘For me?”
Zora stared at the cute toy, surprised.
‘Of course. You’re the only girl in our family. It’s for you.”
Jensen smiled gently.
୮
‘I don’t know if it’s your style. If you don’t like it, just put it aside, and I’ll get you something else next time.”
It was his first time buying a gift for a girl. He usually just had his assistant pick things for Jolie.
This doll had caught his eye on the way home-it looked quiet and soft, just like Zora. He’d told the driver to stop so he could buy it.
“I love it. You don’t have to get another.”
Zora took it and held it close.
The doll was soft and pleasant to the touch, with a cute smile on its face. Zora really liked it.
Looking at the doll’s smile, she unconsciously let a faint smile tug at her lips.
