Chapter 312 A Helping Hand
“Zora, it’s done…” Kian’s voice was rough and hoarse.
He never thought Zora would save their grandpa in such a way.
“Kian, feed this to Grandpa first.”

Zora kept her eyes closed. She felt around her needle pouch, picking out the silver needles she needed.
Kian helped Floyd sit up. Floyd’s face was pale. His eyes were shut, and his breathing was shallow, almost faint.
“Zora, I’ve given it to him.”
After Kian fed the liquid to Floyd, he wiped the faint blood from the corner of his mouth with a handkerchief. Once everything was tidy, he spoke softly.
His eyes softened with pity as he stared at Zora’s bandaged hand.
“Take off Grandpa’s top clothes.”
Zora opened her eyes. She glanced at her wrapped hands, throbbing with sharp, dense pain, but she pushed the discomfort aside. Her expression turned serious and focused.
Kian did as he was told.
She pulled out silver needles one after another and stuck them into Floyd’s exposed chest.
Her movements were quick and precise. She inserted and removed the needles so fast that Kian could barely keep up with her actions.
As time passed, Kian watched cold sweat break out across Zora’s forehead, her lips growing pale.
He didn’t dare make a sound, afraid of distracting her.
The private room was quiet. Kian moved quickly to sterilize the used needles over a small flame and put them back into the pouch.
The two inside were buried in urgent work, while everyone waiting outside wore heavy, tense expressions.
The entire hall was deathly silent.
Opal stood supported by Reed, her face drained of all color.

Suddenly, the private room door swung open.
Kian stepped out, his delicate face etched with exhaustion.
“How is Floyd?”
Everyone tensed and leaned forward.
Opal’s voice was hoarse and shaky.

“Grandma, Zora says you should go rest first. Grandpa’s condition has stabilized. He still needs more time though.”
Kian stood in the doorway. Seeing the whole family’s worried faces, his heart felt heavy too.
Leighton stood outside. With his tall frame, he peered through the narrow door gap. From afar, he spotted a small figure kneeling on the floor, reaching out to place acupuncture needles.
He clearly saw the thick layers of gauze wrapped around her hands.
“How much longer?” Jensen asked.
“Zora said at least four more hours,” Kian replied.
Two hours had already passed. Four more hours remained.
That meant the whole treatment would take six hours.
Just hearing the timeline made it obvious how serious Floyd’s condition was.
Leighton kept staring through the gap. The opening was too small. He could only see half of her body, unable to catch her expression. “How’s Zora holding up?”
“She’s fully focused on the treatment. I need to go back in and help her.”
Kian didn’t dare meet Leighton’s deep eyes.
“How’s Floyd doing!” Chet hurried over with a wooden medicine box slung over his shoulder.
“Chet… please… save Floyd…”
Tears welled in Opal’s bloodshot eyes the second she saw him.
Jensen said, “Zora is giving Grandpa acupuncture right now.”
“I’ll go take a look.”
Chet pushed the door open gently and stepped inside. Zora was still kneeling on the floor, a

long acupuncture pouch spread out on the table beside her.
Kian moved to speak, but Chet held up a finger to signal him to stay quiet.
Zora was completely absorbed in her work, oblivious to her surroundings. Every needle placement had to be perfect. One wrong move would lead to irreversible consequences.
Chet walked over and set his medicine box down softly.
His eyes widened in shock the moment he saw the unique, familiar yet rare acupuncture technique she was using.
It was the Eighteen Meridian Technique.
He’d never thought he’d witness this ancient technique in his lifetime.
“First needle, first row, second volume…” Zora called out for the next needle.

Kian was just about to fetch it when Chet moved faster. He took the needle from the pouch, sterilized it over the flame, and handed it to her instantly.
His movements were far more skilled and steady than Kian’s clumsy ones.
He waved Kian aside, taking over the job entirely.
Chet’s medical skills were unmatched. From that moment on, every time Zora called for a needle, it was placed in her hand right away.
Zora’s treatment speed picked up noticeably. She felt the difference. Kian had never been this fast. She spared a quick glance to her side.
She froze for a split second when she saw Chet.
“Don’t be scared. I’m here with you,” Chet whispered gently, passing her another needle.
His calm words eased Zora’s tense heart.
Working with Chet’s help made everything much easier.
She no longer had to explain which needle to get. Chet always had the right one ready immediately.
Time ticked by slowly.
Zora twisted each needle into place with one hand, while her other hand held her trembling wrist steady. The long hours made it hard for her to keep her hands under control.
