Chapter 340 Classic Winter Snacks for Her
Everything had gone way smoother than Leighton expected.
The only unexpected variable was Zora.
“Really?” Zora believed every word Leighton said.
“Yeah.” Leighton nodded softly.
“I talked to Maya earlier. She said she needs a little more time to think things through.”
Zora didn’t overthink it at all.
If Leighton said it was fine, then it was fine. He always took care of everything for her.
Besides, she barely knew Sam. It was just a random one-time meeting, and they’d probably never cross paths again.
“Let me know once she’s made up her mind,” Leighton murmured gently.
“Okay.”
Zora tilted her head and stared out the car window.
“What are you looking at?”
Leighton followed her gaze toward the street outside.
“Winter’s finally here.” Zora didn’t turn to face him, her eyes fixed steadily on the world outside the window.
“I see that.”
“Have you heard of the four popular winter staple snacks?” she asked when he stayed quiet.
“Four snacks?”
Leighton had been swamped with work lately and hadn’t kept up with any casual online trends.
“It’s super viral online right now,” Noreen spoke up from the front passenger seat.
“The four must-have winter treats are candy apples, roasted nuts, baked sweet potatoes, and hot chocolate.”
Zora nodded quickly in agreement.
“Pull over up ahead.”

Leighton glanced at the street Zora had been watching. They were passing a busy shopping district packed with crowds and shops.
A baked sweet potato stand sat not far ahead, with a long line of people waiting outside.
Most of the people in line were groups of girls and young couples.
A bunch of passersby were even holding big, shiny candy apples in their hands.
Every kid out there had these warm, cozy winter snacks.
Aaron quickly found a parking spot and pulled the car over.
“Why are we stopping?” Zora asked, confused.
“These classic winter snacks. Every other kid gets to enjoy them, so you deserve them too.”
Leighton got out of the car first and held his hand out to her with a soft, gentle smile in his
eyes.
He’d been buried in work these past few days, and Zora had been busy focusing on her schoolwork.
They barely got to spend time together besides eating dinner at night.
Zora’s eyes lit up, but she still hesitated a little.
“Aren’t you really busy right now? If you have work to finish, we can just head home. We don’t need to buy anything.”
She knew he often worked late into the night and rushed through every meal.
She’d only glanced at the snacks casually and hadn’t actually planned on buying any.
“No matter how busy I get, I’ll always make time for you.”
Leighton’s eyes curved softly, and he pinched her cheek lightly.
A tiny, happy smile tugged at Zora’s lips. She couldn’t hide how giddy she felt.
Noreen and Aaron stayed in the parking lot to wait for them.
With Leighton right beside her, Zora didn’t need extra protection.
“Which one do you wanna try first?”
Leighton walked beside her. The street was lined with all kinds of shops, making it hard to pick

He rarely hung out shopping with girls. The only person he’d walked around with before was Finn, and that felt nothing like strolling around with Zora.
“There’s the baked sweet potato stand right over there.”
Zora hadn’t been out shopping in a long time.
She looked at the lively street and smelled the warm, inviting scent of baked sweet potatoes, making her mouth water instantly.
Winter just didn’t feel complete without a warm baked sweet potato.
The cold winter season had officially started.
“We’ll get those first, then.”
Leighton gently grabbed her wrist.
“Leighton?” Zora blinked in confusion, staring at his long, defined hand wrapped around her
wrist.
Why’d he suddenly hold her hand?
“This street’s super crowded. I don’t wanna lose you. C’mon, let’s go get the sweet potatoes.”
Leighton didn’t let go even after she noticed. A faint smile played on his lips as he gestured to the busy crowd all around them.
Į
It was the weekend and school break, so the shopping district was packed, with people pushing and shuffling everywhere.
It was so easy to get separated in the big crowd.
Zora glanced at the sea of people around them and understood.
She let him hold her hand obediently as they walked toward the sweet potato stand.
The line stretched all the way outside the small shop.
They weren’t in a rush, so they quietly stood at the back of the line and waited their turn.
Leighton had grown up having everything handed to him easily.
Waiting in line for street food like this was a pretty new experience for him.
“What flavor do you want?”

They were almost at the front of the line, so Zora turned to look up at him.
“What flavor are you getting?” Leighton glanced at the busy menu, then down at her.
“Oreo flavor,” Zora answered honestly.
“Alright, I’ll get the same.”
Leighton nodded.
“Huh? You want my flavor too?” Zora asked in surprise.
“One serving’s enough.”
Leighton didn’t plan on eating much at all.
After ordering her snack, Zora thought about Noreen and Aaron waiting in the car.
She picked two more best-selling flavors and asked the vendor to pack them up.
Right as she pulled out her phone to pay, Leighton had already beaten her to it.
The three specialty baked sweet potatoes cost a total of 30 dollars.
“Why are you staring at me like that?”
Leighton held the two boxed sweet potatoes for the bodyguards, while Zora held her own fresh,
warm treat.

He’d just put his phone away when he noticed her looking at him like he’d done something weird.
