The Real Heiress's New Family Adored By All novel Chapter 345

Chapter 345 Her Stomach

Zora’s face lit up with pure joy.

She held her flowers tight, pressed her cheek against the soft blooms, and snapped a cute selfie.

Her eyes crinkled into pretty curves, bright and sparkling.

She had a huge, bright, genuine smile on her face.

It was hard to tell who looked better-the gorgeous flowers, or her.

After touching up the photo, Zora posted it to her social media feed.

Her caption read, “Cute flowers, cuter me.”

As soon as she posted it, tons of people liked the picture right away.

Hallie commented, “These flowers are stunning! Where did you get them, Zora!”

Easton commented, “Zora! Pretty flowers for the prettiest girl ever!”

Felix commented, “Can’t decide if I’m more impressed by the flowers or you.”

Maya commented, “So beautiful.”

Zora put her phone aside after posting.

She’d stuffed her face with way too many snacks earlier, and now her stomach felt super bloated and upset.

She needed to find some antacid pills to feel better.

Night had fully fallen, and the living room glowed with warm lights.

Zora quietly cracked open her bedroom door and peeked outside.

The living room was empty.

Leighton wasn’t anywhere in sight.

She pushed the door wide open and walked out, heading straight for the cabinet that held their first-aid stuff.

She’d run out of the homemade antacid tablets she usually took and hadn’t gotten around to making more.

She was hoping they had some store-bought ones lying around the house.

Chapter 345 Her Stomach

G

She’d just gotten way too hyped up over all the tasty treats and overeaten.

This almost never happened to her.

Leighton always kept an eye on her when she ate and stopped her before she overdid it.

But today, he’d totally bought her silly joke about girls having two stomachs for food and snacks.

Since he wasn’t in the living room, she figured he was busy working in his study.

Feeling safe that no one was watching, she stopped tiptoeing and walked casually across the living room.

Leighton always took care of all the household supplies, so she never paid attention to where anything was stored.

She checked the coffee table first.

Nothing there.

Then she rummaged through the storage cabinet.

Still nothing.

She checked a few more cabinets, but came up empty every single time.

A small frown tugged at her brows.

Her stomach felt swollen and really uncomfortable.

2

She felt nauseous, but couldn’t throw anything up no matter how hard she tried.

“What are you looking for?” a voice suddenly came from behind her.

“Antacid pills,” she answered on instinct, still digging through the cabinet.

She froze the second the words left her mouth.

Only she and Leighton were home right now.

“Did you eat too much and upset your stomach?”

Zora was crouched on the floor, and a dark shadow fell over her.

She turned around, feeling totally guilty.

“Why are you out here?”

She looked up at him.

Her big, shiny eyes darted around, too flustered to meet his gaze.

“Looks like your second snack stomach stopped working today.”

Leighton set the water cup he was holding down on the kitchen island.

He crouched down beside her, reached into the cabinet, and pulled out a bottle of antacid tablets.

“It just malfunctioned today.” Zora blinked fast, making a silly excuse.

She’d eaten way too many sweets and snacks, and her body couldn’t keep up with the digestion.

“Stand up.”

Leighton stood up and held his hand out to her.

Zora grabbed his hand and stood up slowly.

She spotted the cup on the counter and realized he’d come out to get himself some water.

“Sit down. I’ll get you some water.”

Leighton glanced at her pale face.

His expression was calm and unreadable.

2

He was super quiet, so Zora didn’t dare say a word, sitting obediently on the chair and waiting.

Leighton walked to the counter, filled her small pink cup with warm water, and set it in front of her.

He tapped two antacid tablets into his palm and held them out to her.

He didn’t make a single sound the whole time.

“You’re kinda scaring me being this quiet.”

Zora snuck a look at his face.

She couldn’t tell if he was upset or not, but his silent stare made her feel really guilty.

She took the two pills from his hand, popped them in her mouth, and washed them down with a sip of warm water.

“Are two enough? I can call a doctor to check you out if you need more.”

Zora watched him nervously.

Leighton let out a soft sigh, his eyes locked on her face, filled with quiet worry.

“They’re enough,” she replied quickly, relieved he was finally talking to her.

Leighton sat down right across from her.

“Why didn’t you come find me when you felt sick?”

“I just overate. It’s no big deal.”

Zora held the warm cup with both hands and took another tiny sip.

She wouldn’t have even come out if she still had her homemade tablets.

It was just a simple stomach ache, nothing serious.

“Overeating still hurts. What were you gonna do if I hadn’t come out and you never found the pills?”

Leighton stared straight at her, looking serious and clearly disapproving of her casual attitude.

“Were you just gonna tough it out and wait for your stomach to settle?”

He’d seen right through her plans.

Zora had no clue how to answer him.
