Chapter 362 His Big Happy Win

“Ugh… I only care about you, Zora. But it’s one-sided. You don’t care about me at all.”

Every time Leighton acted like this, Zora felt guilty.

He sounded so sad that she never had the heart to argue. She always ended up feeling like she’d wronged him. Guilt crept up on her, and she’d always end up comforting him.

He was such a scheming guy.

Zora knew he was exaggerating on purpose.

Still, she fell for it every single time.

She never thought Leighton would fake his feelings. She truly believed he was hurt.

Simply put, one was willing to tease, and the other was willing to take it.

“So… who’s prettier, me or your mentor?”

Leighton stared at her, full of hope.

Zora could tell he was dead serious. She looked back at him. Her clear eyes reflected his gorgeous face-sharp jaw, tall nose, bold and defined features.

When he didn’t smile, he had a cool, classy look.

But when he smiled, his whole face lit up like blooming flowers. It made you wanna give him anything just to keep him smiling.

Right then, Leighton’s entire focus was on waiting for her answer. No playful smile on his face. His eyes were deep and sharp, his red lips pressed tight.

Zora had spent lots of time with him, so she knew that he was nervous.

Zora’s eyes crinkled softly, her voice gentle. “I can’t pick. You two are equally good-looking.”

No bias, no favoritism-they were equally good-looking.

They had totally different styles. One was warm and soft. The other was bright and bold.

There was no clear better one. It all came down to personal taste.

Whoever you liked more would always look better to you.

But if you were being fair, their looks were totally even.

“Really?” Leighton could barely believe his ears. The answer was way better than he’d hoped for.

He never thought he could stand toe-to-toe with Asher when it came to looks.

Zora watched pure joy flash across his face. He looked just like an excited puppy favorite treat, wagging his tail like crazy.

His happiness was so contagious that it made her wanna smile too.

Sometimes he was just like a little kid.

“Guess.” Zora refused to give him a straight answer.

“I know you’re being honest. I didn’t know you thought so highly of me.”

Leighton had lived with her for months. He didn’t know everything about her, but he’d picked up all her little habits.

A huge, bright smile broke out on his face.

He was genuinely overjoyed.

He’d always thought Zora only had eyes for Asher.

They’d only known each other for a few months, yet she thought so highly of him. It exceeded every expectation he had.

Just knowing he had a place in her heart made him happy.

He wasn’t an easy person to please, but Zora’s words could always shift his whole mood in an instant.

He always wanted to know exactly where he stood with her.

“Let’s head out.”

Leighton’s voice was warm and laced with laughter.

Zora finally noticed they’d pulled up to the underground parking garage.

The weather turned freezing out of nowhere. Zora bundled herself up like a fluffy little ball.

She walked into class, yawned, and took off her thick coat. The heater was running, so the room

was warm.

She slouched over and laid her head on her desk to rest.

The whole class was decorating for Thanksgiving. Everyone had worked hard the whole past month, so their teacher, Clark, gave them the entire afternoon off to celebrate and relax.

Zora was the youngest in the class, so no one let her help with any chores.

That left her free to laze around and nap at her desk.

Her desk drawer was crammed full of Thanksgiving cards.

In the corner of her desk sat a solid gold apple and a tiny solid gold tree.

Hallie gave her the apple, and Easton gave her the tree. They were cute little trinkets, great to fidget with.

She also held a silver butterfly ornament in her hand, a gift from Maya.

It was Thanksgiving Day, so Clark let the whole class take the afternoon easy.

The classroom was lively and warm. Some kids hung fairy lights, some drew on the whiteboard, and others taped up holiday decorations.

Everyone was rushing around, drawing together, and chatting about how to spruce up the

room.

Watching the fun, cozy scene, Zora smiled.

She loved these warm, peaceful moments. They made ordinary days feel fun and special.

She pulled out a blank sheet of paper and a sketch pencil. Resting one hand under her cheek, she held the pencil lightly and drew smooth lines across the page.
