Kian chimed in to back her up as well.
Zora offered him a soft smile, her eyes lighting up gently.

“Zora can always come back to visit you during her holidays. Right, Zora?” Reed added, a warm smile playing across his handsome features.
“I will, Grandma. I’ll come see you every time I have time off.” Zora nodded firmly.
“Then… you absolutely have to come back often. This place will always be your home. You can return anytime you want.”
With everyone speaking up one after another, Opal finally relented.
Zora’s plan to move out of the Marlow Manor was settled at last.
After dinner, Zora’s thoughts drifted to making the herbal sachets for Jensen.
Since she was leaving soon, she also wanted to prepare more vitality pills for Opal.
She said goodnight to them and headed upstairs.
Once in her room, she pulled out her small medicine chest and walked over to the balcony.
Skilled and steady, she sorted through the herbs and began making the sachets.
Before long, she finished five neatly crafted sachets.

One was for Jensen, and she set aside one each for Jett and Leighton.
Though they were not especially close, she thought well of them. Most of all, she still remembered the precious gift Leighton had given her.
Hallie had never said exactly how expensive the necklace was, but Zora could tell from her expression that it must have cost a fortune.
Schoolwork was still light so early in the semester, leaving her plenty of free time. She worried she would grow too busy later to spare the hours.
Her grandma was getting on in years, and the recent arguments had worn on her spirits- something she could not afford to take lightly.
Zora mixed and bottled more vitality pills for Opal as dusk fell, placing them one by one into a small porcelain jar.
The jar held a full month’s supply.

Thinking about her grandpa’s frequent headaches, she decided to make an herbal incense blend to clear the mind, soothe the eyes, and ease tension all over the body.
She rummaged through her herb chest and found one key ingredient missing. Setting her things aside, she headed downstairs.
The manor was quiet downstairs, only the soft murmur of housekeepers tidying up in hushed voices.
Opal and Floyd had already gone up to rest. Jensen was in his room handling work, while Kian and Reed were busy with their own matters.
Warm lamplight filled the living room.
Zora stepped outside and headed straight for the herb garden.
The garden lamps glowed softly, and birds chirped quietly in the branches.
When she reached the herb plot, Zora noticed the trampled patches had been replanted with fresh, lush green herbs.
She stared in quiet surprise, assuming Jensen had told the staff to replace them, and the corners of her lips curved faintly.
She fetched a small basket and a hand trowel from the side, knelt down, and carefully dug up the herbs she needed.
It did not take long before she gathered what she needed and headed back inside.
She ran into Paul as she walked into the living room.
“Off to the herb garden again, Zora?” Paul spoke gently, looking at her with the warm fondness of an elder watching over a young girl.
“Yes, Paul.” Zora nodded obediently.
“Did Jensen tell someone to replant the missing herbs in the garden?” Zora asked, thinking of how perfectly neat the garden looked now.
“Oh, that wasn’t him.” Paul paused for a moment before shaking his head. “It was Mr. Holden Knox.
“He felt terrible about trampling your herbs. He compared dozens of varieties, bought exact matches, and said it was his way of making amends to you.”
Paul recalled the scene that afternoon. Holden had arrived with a box full of herbs, marched straight to the garden, and started planting them himself. When the staff offered to help, he

turned them away, rolled up his sleeves, and got to work alone.

He had never done such manual labor in his life, fumbling clumsily and covering his clothes in mud.
He’d rushed to change into fresh clothes the moment he heard Zora had come back to the
manor.
“Holden?” Zora had only asked casually, never expecting such an unexpected answer.
She had guessed so many people, but never him.
In that instant, she remembered yesterday afternoon-the muddy shoes he’d worn, his messy ruffled hair, and the tense, flustered look on his face, as if he’d been caught doing something he
shouldn’t.
She had never seen him look so disheveled before.
He always carried himself aloof and polished, perfectly put-together at all times.
She could hardly believe he’d knelt down to plant herbs with his own hands.
Zora pressed her lips together, confused why Holden would go out of his way to do such a thing.
Still, he had ruined her herb garden, so making amends was only right. She felt no particular gratitude for it.
It was just… unexpectedly out of character for him.
Nothing more than a small surprise.
Zora soon headed upstairs with her gathered herbs.
At the Knox Villa-
“Holden, you’re home. Have you eaten yet?”
Wendy was sitting in the living room watching a variety show. Seeing Holden walk in with hurried steps and a gloomy expression, she stood up with rare delight in her eyes and looked at him with concern.
“I already ate, Mom.”
Holden had left the Marlow Manor earlier that afternoon, stopped by his private club to deal with some affairs, and had only just returned home.
