The Returned Heiress Who Had It All (Cassia) novel Chapter 125

Chapter 125 Certificate

All she saw was Cassia glued to her phone. She never once looked up or focused on the lesson.

Selena’s patience snapped.

Selfstudy, class,she said flatly.

Her gaze cut toward Cassia again.

Still on her phone. Absolutely hopeless.

What a waste of my time, she muttered under her breath before walking out of the room.

Cassia kept tapping on her screen, her fingers moving fast.

She cleared level after level in her game with almost no break between moves.

Now that the class was in a study period, the atmosphere loosened. Students whispered and moved around more freely. Rosalie and Sacha grabbed chairs and sat beside Cassia, watching her play.

Sacha leaned in and whispered, Cassia, are you signing up for the math competition?

Even though she kept her voice down, Danica still heard her.

Tch.The sound was sharp and mocking.

Stop it,Brie said quietly, tugging at her sleeve.

The school never said that bad behavior stops anyone from entering the contest.

Rosalie frowned at Brie’s tone, feeling annoyed.

When she turned back to Cassia, the girl was already asleep, her head resting on her folded arms.

Class hadn’t ended yet, so the honors class students were still seated among the advanced class ones.

Suddenly, the door opened again. Selena came back, holding a large paper envelope.

She walked up to the front and lifted it for everyone to see. Cassia, this is for you. Come get it.

The principal had handed it to her earlier in the hallway, just as she was heading back to her office.

Ms. Parker, the principal had said kindly, since you’re teaching the advanced class right now, could you deliver this to Cassia for me?

Selena had forced a smile and accepted it, but the second she turned away, her expression hardened. Anger burned in her chest as she made her way back to the room.

Of course. It’s always her. That girl doesn’t even know how to show respect.

O

Cassia didn’t respond. She was still asleep. What on earth is in this envelope anyway?

Selena’s irritation spiked. Her voice rose sharply. Cassia! Wake up and come get your package!

Every student turned toward Cassia.

Brie’s eyes dropped to the envelope in Selena’s hand.

The name written on it stood out clearly. It was addressed to Cassia.

What is that?

Ca-

I can take it for her, ma’am.

Right as Selena’s patience was about to snap, Brie raised her hand with a calm, polite smile.

Fine. Hold on to it and give it to her once she wakes up.

Selena didn’t want to spend another second in that advanced class. She didn’t even want to look at Cassia. Giving the package to her younger sister was the easiest way out.

Yes, ma’am.

Brie felt the studentsadmiring glances around her, and the approval made her heart flutter.

She stood and walked gracefully to the front, taking the brown envelope from Selena with both hands before returning to her seat.

When she sat back down, she tucked it neatly into her desk drawer.

Selena left soon after, leaving the class quiet and still for study period.

Brie’s eyes kept drifting toward the envelope. Curiosity burned inside her, but with so many people in the room, she didn’t dare open it.

Hey, Brie, what’s in that envelope?

Danica leaned close, hand cupped by her mouth as she whispered.

Brie murmured, glancing down at the drawer.

I don’t know. It’s Cassia’s. We really shouldn’t open

Danica leaned even closer, pointing at the envelope. What if we just take a quick look? No one has to know.

Brie hesitated. I don’t knowIt’s hers. It does

feel right to open someone else’s mail.”

She acted the part of an understanding but curious sister, though she wanted to know the envelope’s content more than anyone.
