Chapter 130 Back to the Orphanage
Seven didn’t spill that Cassia had given Draven chicken soup as a thank–you, but what he said shut
everyone up.
On one hand, he made sense; on the other, he was their superior. People knew him as mostly fair and reasonable.
“We don’t mean anything else, but Cassia has no idea about boundaries. Does she think she can pursue someone like Mr. Grey?” Alice couldn’t stand how shameless Cassia was.
Cassia did everything Alice only ever dreamed of.
“I don’t understand what you mean.”
Seven looked completely serious. “Why exactly can’t Ms. Wood pursue Mr. Grey?”
“You even call her Ms. Wood? I’m not aiming at you, but your tone shows you’re close to Cassia, so of course you’ll defend her.” Alice’s tone was nasty.
Seven finally understood. Some people just couldn’t be reasoned with.
Draven had said it before. When they dealt with unreasonable people, they needed unreasonable methods.
“Let’s set aside whether I’m defending Ms. Wood. If she can’t pursue Mr. Grey, what makes you think you can?”
That one line silenced Alice instantly.
Seven continued, “Also, are you prettier than Ms. Wood?”
She still couldn’t argue.
She’d always been called the prettiest at the company, but seeing Cassia made her realize there were women way more gorgeous than her.
Seven wasn’t done. “Is your figure better than hers?”
Alice looked at Cassia’s figure and didn’t know how to answer Seven.
“Before you talk behind someone’s back, check yourself first. People who stab others in the back are the worst. At least Ms. Wood never gossips.” Seven didn’t give an inch.
It wasn’t that he hated showing mercy, but she had crossed the line.
How could someone like her be in charge of HR, one of the most important departments? He’d bring it up. with Draven later.
Seven’s serious expression and moral stance hit everyone hard. The ones who had been talking trash about Cassia felt guilty.

Draven finished the chicken soup in one go. Cassia packed up the stainless steel container, ready to go back to Wood Manor.
“Leaving already?”
Draven looked at her reluctantly, secretly wishing she’d stay a bit longer.
“Yeah. I’ve got stuff to do at home.”
Cassia carried the lunchbox and headed out.
“Seven, walk her out,” Draven said, turning slightly.
“Got it, Mr. Grey.”
Seven jogged to catch up with Cassia.
Draven watched them through the automatic doors until Cassia disappeared from view. Then, he turned and took the glass elevator up to his office.
The others were left buzzing with gossip.
Cassia went back to Wood Manor because Vance wanted to thank the orphanage that raised her. Not only did he plan to fund it, but he also wanted to take his three daughters there to volunteer and spend a day playing with the kids.
Of course, the real reason was to cover up the truth that only Vance, Victoria, and the director knew.
Charity was also a classic way for businessmen to look noble.
Danica didn’t want any part of it. She was disgusted. Why should she play with a bunch of country bumpkin kids?
Wasn’t it already enough to have a bumpkin like Cassia?
But under Vance’s intimidating authority, she had no choice.
Brie didn’t dare argue either. She just had to behave.
