Chapter 203 Cassia’s Room

Cassia glanced at the bag and looked away, feeling a bit shy.

After coming out of the bathroom, Cassia sat back down on the bed.

Draven brought her a cup of water from the kitchen and set it in front of her.

“Thanks,” Cassia said. She realized she’d probably said “thanks” to Draven more than anyone else in her life.

“No problem.”

Cassia held the cup and took a small sip. She already felt a lot better.

Draven watched her drink, his brows slightly drawn together.

“Try to just rest at the villa for the next few days. I’ll come over to keep you company. No swimming, no spicy food, and definitely no heavy exercise.”

Did he think she didn’t know basic stuff like that?

Cassia pressed her lips together and smiled.

It was the first time someone had reminded her so carefully. She kind of liked it.

“Okay, got it.”

Once she promised, Draven stood up.

“I’m going to look for the flash drive.”

“I can help,” Cassia said, starting to get up.

“Stay there. Just rest,” Draven said gently.

He closed the bedroom door, found his flash drive in the living room, and headed home.

Early the next morning at sunrise, Cassia went back to the hotel the school booked.

For the next five days, she didn’t join any of the group activities.

Swimming, volleyball—she sat it all out. She just sunbathed at the beach during the day and went back to her villa at night to sleep.

She didn’t feel like she was missing out, though. She never liked crowds and preferred peace and quiet.

She only signed up for this five–day Cubresh school trip to escape the cold and get some sun.

On the third day of Cassia’s winter camp in Cubresh, over at the Wood Manor in Zrario.

During the day, Victoria was pacing back and forth outside Cassia’s bedroom door.

“Victoria, what are you doing?” Geneva asked, curious.

Victoria was holding the spare key to Cassia’s room.

“I want to check her room while she’s not home…”

Every time Cassia was home, she’d lock herself in. Victoria wanted to see what she was doing in there.

“That’s not a good idea, right?” Geneva said, then suddenly realized she herself had never been in her daughter’s room either.

After thinking for a moment, she added, “But Cassia really has kept everything to herself for too long. Maybe checking her room isn’t a bad idea. Even if she gets mad, it might be worth it.”

Victoria had felt it was inappropriate too, but after hearing that, she felt justified.

Cassia was her granddaughter, so what if she looked at her room? It was for her own good!

“Let’s go in together.”

Victoria used the spare key, opened the door, and walked inside.

Cassia’s room was nothing like Danica and Brie’s. It was super clean and simple, with no fancy decorations.

Just a bed, a closet, and a desk.

Victoria sat down on the bed.

It was really soft.

Geneva walked to the desk and noticed all the bottles and jars lined up, plus some tools and devices she’d never seen before.

“What’s this?”

Geneva picked it up and opened the bottle.

“They’re round, like pills. Is this medicine?”

“What kind of medicine?”

Victoria walked over and took the bottle from her.

The bottle didn’t have a label, but when Victoria saw the pills inside, her eyes went wide.

“These … these look like the kind you can only get on the black market. The ones people say can cure anything and make you live longer! They only sell two a month on the black market, and they cost a fortune.”

Geneva had never heard of it, but Victoria had–she’d lived long enough to know about things like this.

“Are you serious?” Geneva’s eyes widened. “How would Cassia even have something like this?”
