Chapter 205 Awkward Conversation

The school had a strict rule: no teacher–student dating. Who would be dumb enough to risk their job like that?

“I’m not sure,” Brie said. “I only saw him once. He’s handsome and drives a Volkswagen.”

Alfen said there was no one like that at school.

After he left, Danica took a huge bite of her ice cream and grumbled, “See? I told you, Brie! That loser probably just picked up some random thug. She’s probably embarrassed, so she lied and said he’s a teacher.”

But she didn’t agree with Danica.

Brie’s heart started racing. Her face felt so hot she thought it might turn bright red.

He was holding a school staff badge in his left hand as he reached for the office door.

He is a teacher!

Brie took a deep breath and gathered every bit of courage she had, then walked toward him.

“Victoria, think about it. Is there any special date or number that means something to Cassia?”

Victoria had no idea. She didn’t understand this granddaughter at all.

“What’s your birthday?” Geneva asked casually.

“August 25. Why would you try mine? She’d never use my birthday. If she used anyone’s, it would be yours-”

The computer unlocked.

Victoria stared at the screen, her mouth hanging open.

Geneva was just as shocked; she had only asked for the date on a whim.

“No idea why that girl would use my birthday as her password. Is she up to something weird?”

Geneva looked up at her.

Seeing the complicated look on Victoria’s face, Geneva’s eyes dimmed. She felt a wave of emotion but couldn’t find the words just then.

No matter what Cassia was thinking, if Victoria felt nothing after seeing this, she didn’t have a heart.

Victoria paused, then said quietly, “I was overthinking.”

It was the first time she spoke up for Cassia.
