Sacha spoke with absolute certainty. “Because Cassia wouldn’t stoop that low. If she wanted to
hurt me, she’d just use her fists. That would be way easier.”
Hearing Sacha say this, the students thought it actually made a lot of sense.
‘Besides, Cassia has no motive,” Rosalie added.
“No motive?” Jade shot back.
“First it was Danica’s hand, and now Sacha’s stomach!”
“You have no proof!” Sacha said.
“Fine! I don’t have proof, but Cassia doesn’t have proof that she didn’t deliberately hurt Danica’s hand either.”
Jade continued, “And now you. Cassia’s motive is obvious. She just can’t stand seeing anyone do better than her. She wanted to take the stage for herself.”
“Everything you’re saying is just your own speculation. Besides, Cassia never showed any intention of performing on stage, Rosalie argued back. “Danica was the one who originally recommended Cassia to perform, but Cassia turned it down. Do you really think she’d go through all that trouble to drug Sacha?”
‘Maybe … maybe she changed her mind and decided she wanted to perform after all:*
“Ha!” Sacha let out a cold laugh. “If she wanted to perform, all she had to do was say the word and I would have let her take my spot!”
Her words rang out loud and clear, leaving Jade with nothing to say.
Lilian’s expression was grave.
This incident had happened in her class. As their homeroom teacher, she couldn’t escape responsibility.
“Cassia, you really didn’t do it?”
Cassia’s expression was cool and detached. ‘Shouldn’t you be asking Leah the same question?”
Lilian’s face turned awkward.
‘I didn’t do it. She did.” Cassia dropped those words and walked away.

Draven’s dangerous gaze locked onto Leah.
After two seconds, the sharp edge in his eyes suddenly withdrew.
In a secluded spot away from the crowd, Draven caught up to Cassia.
“Have you eaten?”
Cassia nodded. “Yes.”
“Did you
drink any
cold water?”
“No.”

“Anything spicy?”
Cassia looked up, a smile playing at the corner of her lips. “We ate dinner together tonight, didn’t we? Are you losing your memory or something?”
Seeing that she could still joke around with him like this, the worry in Draven’s heart slowly faded.
“About the laxative thing…”
“You think I did it?”
“You would never.”
The man’s tone was utterly certain.
Cassia leaned against the large tree behind her, looking rather carefree.
“You trust me that much?”
“Yes. You’re worth trusting.”
His words made Cassia’s expression shift once again.
For a moment, the two of them simply gazed into each other’s eyes.
“Cassia…”
Suddenly, Geneva’s voice broke the atmosphere between them.
They both turned toward the sound.
Geneva had come looking for her. Spotting Cassa, she walked over.

Only when she got closer did she notice the man standing beside Cassia.
“Cassia, who is this?”
“A close friend of mine.”
Just a close friend?
Draven glanced at Cassia, his lips forming a slight pout.

Geneva observed Draven’s distinguished bearing and the natural air of nobility that radiated from him.
Her daughter didn’t have many friends at school so she was relieved to see that Cassia had made one.
Draven noticed Geneva looking at him with a curious, searching gaze.
He knew Geneva was the only person in the Woods who genuinely cared about Cassia, so he kept his attitude warm and friendly.
He had been about to casually call her “Mother–in–law,” but figured it wasn’t quite time for that yet, so he changed course. “Nice to meet you, Mrs. Wood.”
Geneva found this young man not only distinguished but also well–mannered.
A fine young man!
“Oh, hello, hello.”
Seeing Geneva give him the kind of warm, approving smile that only elders could give, Draven thought to himself, “My future mother–in–law has a good first impression of me. Keep up the good work.”
After exchanging greetings with Draven, Geneva turned to Cassia. “Cassia, your father wants you to come home for a bit.”
The Spring Gala was winding down, and everyone was getting ready to head home. The Woods were preparing to leave as well.
Vance wanted to find an excuse to get Cassia to come back to the Wood Manor, but he knew- that if he went to her himself, Cassia would definitely refuse.
So he sent Geneva to find her instead, hoping that Cassia might agree to come home out of respect for her mother.
As it turned out, the tactic worked.

But Cassia said, “I’m just stopping by. I’m going Back to Sterling’s place tonight.”
Geneva nodded. “All right.”
After saying goodbye to Draven, Cassia left with Geneva.
Cassia and Geneva got into Vance’s car.

The entire ride, Vance kept praising Cassia, going on about how she had finally done something to make them proud and other similar remarks.
Danica and Brie stayed silent the whole time, not saying a word, but their twisted, sour expressions made their feelings perfectly clear.
Cassia rested her head against the car window, gazing out at the night scenery with utter boredom.
The moment the car stopped, Brie and Danica scurried out like startled mice, rushing into the manor ahead of everyone else.
After accompanying Geneva back to the Wood Manor, Cassia walked through the front door only to find Victoria sitting on the living room couch with her arms crossed.
“Did you lip–sync?” Victoria asked, her face was stern.
Over the past few days, Victoria’s attitude toward Cassia had improved.
First, it was because Cassia had leverage over her One wrong move, and this girl would absolutely spill everything.
