Inside the hospital room, Danica was still screaming and crying. Geneva tried her best to calm her down.

Danica’s loud cries were clearly audible even outside the room.

Cassia acted as if she didn’t hear a thing. She looked only at Vance, her eyes flat and calm.

“I remember very clearly,” Cassia said, “you told me yesterday that Danica did

“I-” Her sharp rebuke made the words choke in Vance’s throat. He was left speechless.

“You stopped me from saving her,” Cassia went on coldly. “Now that she’s sick, you suddenly remember me. What? You think I don’t have principles?” She gave a short, mocking laugh, shoved her hands into her pockets, and turned around.

“What a waste of my time.”

Victoria stared at Cassia in a daze.

Cassia had never been welcomed at home. Danica had never acknowledged her as a sister and often spoke badly about her in front of the elders. On top of that, Vance had said those awful things to her before.

Victoria suddenly felt that Cassia’s cold attitude was understandable. Anyone in her place would feel the same.

Cassia was about to leave. Brie panicked. She thought of the money Cassia had taken away from her two nights ago.

“Danica needs money for treatment right now,” Brie said quickly. “Since you’re her real sister, even if you would rather not see her, you should still take responsibility as family and help financially.”

Brie deliberately shifted the topic to the money.

If it weren’t for the 100 million Cassia had, she wouldn’t care about Danica at all.

Vance and Victoria snapped back to their senses.

Vance called out to her, “I plan to invite Dr. Mary from Montavia to treat Danica. But hiring her costs a lot. Our company’s assets aren’t enough right now-”

“No money?” Cassia turned around and looked at those three with open sarcasm.

Before any of them could answer, she continued, “If you didn’t know I had that money, would you even think about inviting Dr. Mary?”

Their true purpose had been exposed. The faces of Vance, Victoria, and Brie all turned gloomy.

“How disgusting,” Cassia said bluntly.

“It has nothing to do with any of you,” Cassia said flatly. “And don’t ever covet my money again.”

“Cassia, you’re just a girl. What do you need that much money for?!” Vance panicked.

“I’ll say it again,” Cassia replied. “The money is mine. I can do whatever I want with it. It has nothing to do with you. Not a single cent.”

The cold, unfamiliar way she spoke to him made Vance furious.

“I gave birth to you and raised you, and this is how you treat me? Fine, I admit it. Wh went missing as a child, I failed as a father. But now your mother brought you back. You were registered legally under us. For the six months you lived in the manor, everything you ate, wore, and used came from me.”

“So what you’re saying is–you want me to use money to buy off the tiny, pitiful bond that barely existed between us during those six months?” Cassia said lightly to Vance, her voice clearly edged with impatience.
