The scene scared the two men so badly that they tried to pull their hands back. Sweat poured down their faces.

But Buck and Jake were far too strong. They couldn’t break free from their grips.

Cassia suddenly tossed the knife from her hand.

The blade stabbed straight down into the table, landing perfectly between their palms. Both men froze. Every hair on their bodies stood on end.

Jake and Buck finally let go. The two men collapsed onto the floor.

Cassia stared at them without blinking. It was the look of a hunter watching its trapped prey.

Her voice was cold, sharp enough to cut. “Talk. Or next time, the knife won’t hit the table.”

“Boss! Boss! We were wrong! We’ll talk! We’ll tell you tell you everything!”

They stammered and rambled, shaking so hard they could barely form words.

Still, Cassia understood enough. The person behind this was exactly who she had suspected.

“Where’s the rest of the shipment?” Cassia asked. Phantom was waiting to destroy it with her. The drugs. had been stolen on her territory, so it was her responsibility to get them back.

They had turned in only three crates. Three more were still missing.

Those materials could be processed into dangerous narcotics. Completely forbidden.

Every single crate had to be recovered. Otherwise, she couldn’t live with herself, and she couldn’t face her partner.

“Well, this…” One man whimpered. “Boss, we can’t tell you. We really can’t-”

Cassia narrowed her eyes. The knife standing on the table reflected a sharp, icy light in her gaze.

“Can’t say it?” she asked calmly. “So their life matters more than yours?”

The two men hesitated and mumbled. No matter how Cassia threatened them, they refused to say where the drugs were. They wouldn’t say why they were protecting the culprit.

Cassia lost her patience. She hooked a finger at Jake.

Jake understood immediately.

He and Buck pressed the men’s hands harder against the wooden table.

“You see?” Jake said, clicking his tongue. “You could’ve just talked. You had to make Cassia get rough.”

Cassia spoke coolly, without emotion. “Next time, I won’t miss. One finger. You have my words.”

She spun the knife once and slid it back into its sheath.

“Get out.”

Those men dropped to their knees and slammed their heads against the floor again and again. “Thank you, boss. Thank you for sparing our lives!”

Then they scrambled up and ran off the stage as fast as they could.

Cassia stood up and scanned the room before speaking. “Jake. Buck. Capos, come upstairs with me.”

On the second floor of the bar, Cassia first ordered her people to check the room.

She had been gone for a while. Traps were always possible. But strangely, nothing was wrong at all.

Cassia found that odd, but she didn’t comment. She placed the list on the conference table. “I’ve already reviewed the names,” she said. “A lot of people worked together on this theft.”

She continued, her tone steady and cold. “When each of you gets your department’s list, follow it exactly. Anyone circled in red–arrest them. Anyone marked with an X–deal with them on the spot.”

Cassia wasn’t cruel. If she weren’t decisive, the traitors would think she was weak.

Today they stole poppies. Tomorrow, they would try to kill her.
