Chapter 417 The Truth

Byron planted his hands on his hips and said bluntly, “And you just said you’re the sister who cares about her and loves her!”
Brie was left speechless. Her panicked gaze darted around before finally landing on Kaleb.
Kaleb was looking at her with unfamiliar scrutiny.
That look stabbed straight into her eyes and her heart.
“I really didn’t mean it like that-”
Cassia cut her off, “You didn’t say it by accident. You meant every word.”
When the students heard that, they suddenly felt like this so–called icy queen wasn’t as unapproachable as they’d imagined.
Listen to that comeback. Sharp, but kind of down–to–earth.
Thinking about it, ever since Cassia transferred to Zrario High, she’d just sat quietly in the corner by herself, never bothering
anyone.
Why had they hated her?
It seemed like it started with Tyne and Danica, the two of them going around like loudspeakers, spreading bad things about Cassia.
Saying she was unfilial. Saying she was trash from a backwater town…
Even airing out ugly family matters from the Woods.
Suddenly, Danica wiped her tears and turned to Cassia solemnly. “Cassia, I was blind before. I let Brie use me and spread so many rumors about you… I’m sorry.”
Cassia watched as Danica bowed deeply to her, but she didn’t speak.
Danica remembered the Zrario volleyball tournament, when she’d pretended her hand hurt to force Cassia onto the court.
The mockery. The cold stares. The sarcasm. The setups.
So many things…
She had helped Brie do so much damage. Getting kidnapped and spiraling into depression–maybe she had deserved it.
But she was also grateful. That kidnapping had finally opened her eyes. It wasn’t too late to turn back.
“Right here, in front of everyone, I want to clarify. Everything I told you before was a lie. Don’t believe it.”
Hearing Danica clear the rumors herself, the students felt a strange sense of relief.
But a question lingered.
How did Tyne know so many private details about the Woods?
One didn’t have to think hard to know. It had to be Brie.

Chapter 417 The Truth
Brie deliberately told her those things, then had Danica and Tyne spread them.

Those vicious words hadn’t come directly from Brie’s mouth, but whenever Tyne went around saying them at school, Brie had always been there, and never once stopped her.
If you connected the dots carefully, it seemed possible that from the very beginning, Brie had used Tyne and Danica as her mouthpieces to ruin Cassia’s reputation.
The more they thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
If that was true, then Brie’s scheming ran terrifyingly deep.
Add to that what Danica had just revealed–that earlier this month, Brie had pushed her own sister down the stairs and calmly framed Cassia for it.
“Wait… No way. Is Brie really that kind of person?” Someone gasped in disbelief.
Everyone here had earned their place at Zrario High. No one was stupid.
The more they replayed everything in their heads, the more holes they found.
“Do you guys remember when the piano at the Arwing Piano Club got destroyed?” a girl suddenly asked.
“At the time, Brie insisted Cassia was the last one in the classroom. But we saw the surveillance footage. Cassia barely touched the piano. Brie was the one who lifted the entire lid!”
Once she said that, everyone started thinking it through again.
The more they analyzed it, the less it seemed like Cassia had anything to do with it.
From an outsider’s perspective, if anyone had motive and opportunity, it was Brie.
They had all been fooled by the campus belle’s innocent face.
“So… was the piano thing Brie too? And she framed Cassia?” The truth was beginning to click into place for most of them.
Brie stood frozen in place, listening to the murmurs grow louder, fear creeping up her spine.
“No wonder Cassia lost it that day and kicked the piano to pieces. If I got framed once, twice, three times, I’d probably snap too!” a boy said indignantly, siding with Cassia.
Kaleb stepped up beside Brie, his face expressionless.
“Did you do all that?”
“I didn’t do it!” Brie looked utterly wronged, biting her lower lip so hard that it turned white.
In the past, whenever she wore that fragile, pitiful expression, Kaleb would almost always believe her.
But ever since he overheard her conversation with Danica in Cubresh, he had started paying closer attention.
And slowly, he began to realize that Brie might not be as perfect as he once thought.
