“Fine. If you like her that much, answer a few questions for me.”

Before Kaleb could react, the first question hit him.

“What’s her favorite food?”

“What shoe size does she wear?” Draven asked again, his other hand moving behind his back.

Kaleb’s face burned. He wished the ground would open up and swallow him.

Cassia tilted her head slightly, still watching Draven’s lips.

Seven laughed awkwardly. “Well, I may not know what Ms. Wood likes to eat or her shoe size, but I do know what you like! You love seafood, especially crab. You like trading stocks, and you love watching PAW Patrol. Your favorite colors are blue and white. And your shoes are-”

Sterling quickly shoved a lollipop into Seven’s mouth.

That lollipop? Seven had bought it earlier when he picked Sterling up from school.

Outside the car, Kaleb lowered his head. He said nothing.

He wanted to run.

Draven’s words had stripped him bare.

He had just kept saying, again and again, that he liked her.

But he couldn’t answer even the simplest questions about Cassia.
