Chapter 482 The Debt Between Them
Chapter 482 The Debt Between Them
Jason shifted his gaze toward Cassia.
He wanted to see what kind of charm this girl had, the kind that could capture Draven’s attention so completely.
But the second his eyes landed on her, he felt a sharp, dominating stare hit him through the rearview mirror.
It happened briefly, but still sent a chill straight down his spine.
Wow, that possessiveness is on another level!
Jason quickly looked away.
Yeah. Better just focus on driving.
“I like it a lot,” Cassia said, sitting up straighter as she looked at Draven. “But I’ve always had one question.”
Draven glanced calmly at Jason, then returned his full attention to Cassia. A small smile touched his lips. “What is it?”
“What had I ever done for you?”
Draven’s brows moved slightly. “Where did that come from?”

Cassia lowered her eyes and looked at the crystal anklet tied around her ankle. Then she looked back at him. “I remember you said I did a huge favor for the owner of this anklet … which is you.”
Her beautiful eyes locked onto his deep, dark ones.
“But…”
Her tone shifted.
“After you gave me this anklet, I thought about it for a long time. The first time we officially met was at the McKenzie Auction. Before that, maybe I saw you somewhere, but I’m sure we never actually interacted.”
Her meaning was clear.
If we never really met, how could I have helped him?
She had no memory of saving him or helping him in any way.
Before, she never asked because she thought it must be true, and she just could not recall.
She still couldn’t remember anything at all. That made her start to wonder if Draven had lied to her. Maybe that thing had never happened in the first place.
She decided to casually ask about it.
“That’s not important,” Draven said with a soft smile.
“No. It is important.” Cassia looked at him, her eyes full of seriousness.

Then she bent down again and removed the crystal anklet from her ankle.
She placed it into Draven’s large palm.
“Here. This belongs to you.”
Draven had been watching her face. When he felt her movement, his eyes dropped to her hand.
Her fingertips had brushed his palm. A faint, numb warmth spread through him.
He had to admit Cassia’s hands were unbelievably attractive.
Soft. Delicate. Addictive to touch.
“You like it, don’t you?” he asked quietly. “Why give it back?”
His long fingers curled slightly. The crystal anklet rested quietly in his palm.
It still carried her warmth. Soft. Warm.
‘I don’t accept gifts I didn’t earn,” Cassia said seriously, looking straight into his eyes. “I never saved you or helped you. Right?”
The moment he said “not important,” she already knew.
He had lied.
As for why he lied, now that she returned the anklet, he would probably explain.
And if he didn’t, she would find out.
‘Why would you say so?” Draven said, a faint urgency hidden in his voice. “You did do me a huge favor.”
Cassia frowned, confused.
She didn’t. Why would he keep saying this?
Before she could speak, Draven continued. “If you hadn’t helped me, I would’ve been forced into blind dates. That’s about my whole future. Doesn’t that count as something huge?”
“That’s different,” Cassia said calmly. “I only agreed to pretend to be your girlfriend because you helped me buy that house in Dunstino Bay. As for this anklet, I got it on Brie’s birthday. I didn’t do anything for you.”
“Same thing,” Draven said immediately.
“Same?” Cassia frowned deeper.
“Yeah,” Draven paused, thinking. But his gaze stayed on her face the whole time–serious and a little intense
“What if I told you I planned this from the start? From the moment I saw you at the auction, I already knew only you could handle the responsibility of being my girlfriend.”
