“What? Not him?” Victoria stepped closer and gave Buck another look.

“No way I’m wrong! I’m very good at judging people! Last time I followed that girl to the hotel, I clearly saw this man sitting in the boss’s seat!”
“He really isn’t!” Aspen said, exasperated. “The second boss of the Lennox Hotel is a man surnamed Madron–Jake Madron.” Aspen was truly speechless at Victoria’s mistake. It turned out the old lady had identified the wrong person!
He quickly pulled out his phone, opened the hotel’s official website, and brought up Jake’s profile.
“Look, right here. On the official site, under the board of directors. It clearly says the second boss is Jake Madron.”
Victoria froze when she saw it.
Official information couldn’t be faked.
“W–What? So it’s not Buck Guzman?”
So this guy’s name is Buck…
Aspen glanced at Buck, only to find him standing there with his arms crossed, glaring at him.
“Aspen? You’re Aspen Wood?”
Buck might not recognize his face, but he definitely knew the name.
Aspen Wood, the son of the head of the Woods, Vance Wood.
“You lied to me!”
Of all things, Buck hated being lied to the most, especially by a Wood.
The muscles in his arms tensed, nearly bursting through his sleeves.
Aspen immediately shrank back, stammering, “D–Don’t misunderstand! I didn’t mean to deceive you. I just heard your hotel doesn’t welcome people from my family, so I had no choice but to say that to get answers.”
“And you!” Victoria suddenly pointed at Buck. “As my granddaughter’s boyfriend, not only do you ban our family from your hotel, but you even dare to shout at us? I’ll have her break up with you immediately!”
Now that she knew Buck wasn’t the second boss, her first reaction was simple–Cassia had to cut ties with him.
Tch. No wonder he gave off that street–thug vibe. He was rude and uncultured… Just some nobody!
How could someone like that possibly be a hotel executive?
And he thought he could marry into the Wood family? Dream on!
Even if Cassia liked him, she would never allow it.
Aspen quickly tugged at her sleeve.

“Grandma, don’t say nonsense!”
Buck looked at her, barely holding back the urge to throw a punch.
“Boyfriend? Are you out of your mind?”
“You’re not Cassia’s boyfriend?”
Victoria froze again.
Gosh, was she about to get humiliated again?
“The hell I am!” Buck snapped. “Cassia was right. You’re not just blind, your brain doesn’t work either!”
“Uh…”

Victoria was completely stunned by the scolding.
‘Then why are you treating her so well? You served her tea and poured her water…”
She had been about to add, ‘If you didn’t treat her like your wife, I wouldn’t have misunderstood!‘ But one glance at Buck’s bulging muscles and tattoos made her swallow those words whole.
‘If you don’t know how to use your brain and eyes, donate them to someone who does,” Buck shot back mercilessly. “All you do is wist things about Cassia. Let me ask you instead, have you even looked into that Wilcox kid yet?”
‘I… I…” Victoria was speechless.
She hadn’t even started investigating.
As soon as Buck saw Victoria stammering, he knew the old lady hadn’t done any investigation at all!
He snorted. Hah, so much for all that big talk the other day!
‘Figures. Talking big that day, but doing nothing. Instead of caring about what actually matters, you run your mouth about baseless gossip. Typical.”
Victoria, a dignified lady of high society, was completely torn apart by his words. Her pride was shattered.
All she wanted now was to leave.
“Grandma, let’s go.”
Even Aspen felt utterly humiliated as he hurriedly pulled her away from the hotel.
Watching them retreat like rats, Buck muttered in disgust, “What a useless family.”
Back at the Wood Manor, Brie stepped forward.
“What happened? Grandma, Aspen, why do you both look so upset?”
“Don’t even mention it!” Victoria snapped, still fuming at being scolded so harshly at the hotel entrance.
“Aspen, honestly, why did you go looking for that thug? You got me humiliated!”

If you hadn’t suddenly shown up, called out my name, and started spouting nonsense, none of this would’ve happened….
“You went to see Cassia’s boyfriend?” Brie asked, catching keywords like “Lennox Hotel” and “thug,” recalling Victoria’s earlier claim that Cassia was juggling multiple men.
A thug? That definitely couldn’t be the refined and wealthy Mr. Grey.
