Seven figured he didn’t even need the barbecue–just watching was enough to fill him up.
Draven shot him a glance, then gripped the skewers and gave them one last turn. Done.
Done!
Wearing disposable gloves, he lifted a beef skewer–crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside–and held it out to Cassia.
“Here, give it a try. It’s a little hot.”
Cassia hadn’t expected that the first person he’d offer it to would be her.
“Thanks.”

Richard was deep in thought when suddenly, a strong gust of wind swept through, carrying a loud rumbling sound.

Dust and debris flew in everywhere. Sand stung Cassia and Richard’s eyes, and they instinctively raised their hands to shield their
faces.
The yard fell into chaos. Guests who had been enjoying their food were caught off guard by the sudden wind and scattered in all directions.
The sound was coming from above.
Cassia forced one eye open and looked up through the gap between her fingers.
She saw a massive helicopter, its bright lights flashing, circling in the air not far from the Scott Villa as it slowly descended.
What a flashy entrance!
Aside from that woman Richard had spoiled, she couldn’t think of anyone else.
Everyone at the villa stared at the helicopter as it touched down, wondering who might be stepping out.
“Wow, Mr. Grey, this is impressive–almost like when you were out representing the Grey Group on a business trip,” Seven said, leaning back in a plastic chair and gnawing on a chicken wing as he watched the gate with interest.
Draven didn’t respond. He ignored Seven completely, his attention fixed on the beef skewers sizzling on the grill.
Not his problem.
He’d just learned Cassie liked cumin.
Yeah… he’d better sprinkle a little extra.
Mia tossed her half–eaten chicken wing aside and ran to the gate, craning her neck to catch the action.
Watching the helicopter, Richard figured Peter had finally arrived.
But the helicopter… it looked strangely familiar.
It landed right outside the gate of the yard, and everyone rushed over to watch.
Soon, a group of men in black suits spilled out of the helicopter, forcing their way through the crowd and splitting it clean down the
middle.
Then, a woman stepped forward, wearing a black–and–gold coat, glittering with jewels. Under the amazed stares of the crowd, she walked gracefully toward the villa.
From his spot behind the crowd, Richard got a clear look at her face–and his expression went from calm to shock.
“What are you doing here?”
Vrastin was over a thousand miles from Zrario. Even by plane, it would take overnight to get here.
That meant Gloria had been on her way since yesterday.
Didn’t they agree she would stay home? Why rush over overnight?

Then what was the point of Richard asking Cassia to take that photo with him yesterday?
Someone in the crowd spoke up.
“Who is she? What a grand entrance!”

“You don’t know? She’s always on TV- the heiress of the Laurents, one of the Fortune 500 companies. She’s Gloria, Richard’s wife.”
‘Because of that photo, people are saying you’ve got yourself a mistress.”
Gloria stopped in front of Richard, craning her long, graceful neck as she scanned the crowd.
‘Where is she?”
The crowd, taken aback by her commanding presence and icy question, suddenly got it.
This was it–Gloria confronting Cassie, catching her red–handed.
