Even if you could tank the hit with Mini Borrowed Time and make it out of the basement, you’d go down again soon after. Then you’d waste even more time healing yourself, which would delay the final cipher and directly affect the endgame.
Draven stared at the results on his phone, clearly annoyed.
He always aimed for perfection. He wanted excellence. He wanted to win. Even in a small game, it was no different.
When he first started playing with her, most of his matches ended in ties. But after playing more recently, his rank had climbed pretty high, and now he could consistently secure an escape.
But that last Duo Hunters match…
Even though he made it out, no one else did.
Only one survivor escaped. That still counted as a loss.
He thought back to the start of the match, when he’d finished decoding a cipher and passed by another the third roller coaster stop. He’d seen Dream Witch’s two followers strike at the same time, hitting both a perfumer and a runner.
She had done that move once before when they played together. He’d seen it with his own eyes.
He didn’t believe there was anyone in the world besides her who could pull that off.
Unless… that Dream Witch was…
Draven opened the Dream Witch player’s profile.
“BW Ernest…”
He exited the results screen, opened Ernest’s account, and sent a friend request.
Just as the request went through, Seven pushed open the office door and walked in.
“Mr. Grey, I’ve made all the arrangements as instructed. Tonight, there’ll be a banquet at the Greys‘ headquarters. Mr. Ned and the others will all be there.”
Draven exited the game and set his phone on the desk.
“Okay.”
Finally, my family is going to meet her.
At the thought of it, the faint irritation in his eyes softened into something warmer.
Seven noticed the subtle change in his expression and couldn’t help but wonder what his boss had just been doing to look slightly annoyed.
He thought he’d heard sounds from Asymmetrical V earlier.
Seeing that Draven was about to get back to work, Seven didn’t want to disturb him and turned to leave, but then remembered something and walked back to the desk.

“Oh, right. Mr. Grey, my sister will be there tonight too.”
“Cool.”
Draven didn’t react much to that.

He picked up a stack of documents, uncapped his pen, scanned through them briefly, then signed his name with swift, decisive strokes.
His handwriting was bold and fluid, comparable to a professional calligrapher’s.
At the same time, back at the RE Club.
Cassia and Ashley were still in the match.
Ashley caught the remaining mercenary and, after hooking him to a rocket chair, went to guard the runner’s chair.
Cassia headed toward the other gate.
The side gate hadn’t been opened yet, and the injured runner was trying to open it.
Being injured slowed the process significantly, giving Cassia plenty of time.
She walked over. The runner tried to copy the mercenary from earlier, forcing the gate open and planning to roll out.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have that kind of luck. And his opponent was Cassia.
Two solid hits. The runner went down, got hooked, and soon turned into a burst of fireworks in the sky.
The match ended.
A complete victory.
Seven eliminations.
Not eight. Cassia pressed her lips together, slightly dissatisfied.
“Seriously? You’re upset because one mercenary got away?” Ernest clicked his tongue.
“With your skill, even the two of us professionals have to admit defeat!”
Cassia gave a faint smile and handed the phone back to Ernest.
“All right. Now, can you tell me where Urban went?”
“Huh? What?”
