People cheered and congratulated her nonstop. The atmosphere felt like a celebrity red–carpet event–Cassia was surrounded, praised, and adored.

And Draven felt a surge of pride.

Cassia, however, only stayed in the crowd for a short while. Then, with Jake shielding her, she slipped out of the gemstone market quietly.

Draven and Seven darted after her… but a tide of people blocked their way. By the time they pushed through the entrance and rounded the corner outside, the luxury car carrying Cassia had already sped off, leaving behind only a faint trail of white exhaust.

“Boss, if we chase now, we can still catch her.”

Seven turned to Draven. “Do we chase?”

“No rush.”

Draven reached inside his coat and pulled out a small folded slip of paper.

out.

He unfolded it. On the white paper, in sharp black ink, was a single sentence, “The girl you saw tonight spent the whole night inside her room at the Wood Manor. She never stepped outside.”

So that was it. The brat wanted him to keep quiet–pretend that she didn’t come here tonight at all.

Draven’s lips curved faintly upward. He looked toward the direction Cassia’s car had disappeared into, staring into the deep, inky night.

He whispered to himself, “We’ll meet again.”

The next day, the top floor of a luxury tower in Vrastin. The vast CEO office.

A faint layer of frost clung to Draven Grey’s brow, sharpening the already cold lines of his face. He didn’t just look unapproachable.
