In the next moment, Victor grabbed her by the waist and firmly pushed her away.

Pushed her? This was a first. He had actually pushed her away.

Percy’s lip twitched. “Morning sickness?” He turned to look at Tessa. As a Falvarian, he had never heard of a man experiencing pregnancy symptoms, so the concept was foreign to him.

Seeing Percy’s questioning gaze, Tessa looked equally lost. “I have no idea.”

She truly didn’t know.

Silas gave Lewis a look of pure exasperation. “What kind of nonsense are you spewing? Careful, or the boss will have your head!”

“I’m serious! We saw it in one of those videos we watched earlier, remember?”

Silas went silent.

When they were preparing to help Victor look after the baby, they had spent a lot of time learning from parenting videos online. Now that Lewis mentioned it, Silas remembered. Those videos had mentioned that some men actually experience sympathetic pregnancy reactions when their partners are expecting.

Silas glanced back toward the restroom. Honestly, Victor’s vomiting did look exactly like a pregnancy

symptom.

“We should still run some tests to be sure,” Percy suggested.

Lewis turned to Tessa. “Have you had any reactions at all?”

“Me? Not a single one!”

Since she had found out she was pregnant, her appetite had been great and her sleep even better. She spent her days eating and napping–life couldn’t be more comfortable.

Victor emerged from the restroom, his face deathly pale. In all the time Tessa had been with him, she had never seen him look so frail.

She felt a pang of concern. “Are… are you okay?”

Victor was utterly drained. “I need to lie down for a while.”

“Lie down?” That word was practically non–existent in Victor’s vocabulary while traveling. He had once scolded Lewis for being lazy because the latter wanted to lie down. And now….

Tessa stared at him, speechless.

“Alright. Try one of these tablets first and see if it helps. If not, we’ll do a full checkup as soon as we land.”

Percy handed Victor a pill.

As it turned out, Victor couldn’t even handle the faint scent of the medication. The moment it touched his tongue, he lunged back into the restroom for another round of violent retching.
