Eddie: “…”
Not eating? That won’t do.

He turned, intending to lecture Rianne about how skipping meals was bad for her, but she had already bolted into her room, giving him no chance to speak. Her movements were practically a getaway.
The moment Rianne entered the dorm, she saw Evie lying on her bed.
The bed had been replaced.
Yesterday, it was just a single bed. When she applied for the dorm, she had been assigned this studio unit; it had a bathroom and a small kitchenette. The space wasn’t large, but it had everything she needed.
But this bed…
Rianne froze at the sight. “Evie? What are you—
Evie was lying there reading a book, wearing noise–canceling headphones. She hadn’t heard the door open when Rianne first came in. Noticing Rianne hovering in front of her, she took off her headphones.
‘Off work? And you bought cake?” Evie noted. “Wait, why is your face so red? Do you have a fever? This weather in Yalvoria is just cursed. It’s nothing like Falvaria.”
Yalvoria was perennially cold. If one wasn’t careful, it was incredibly easy to catch a cold.
Rianne stared at the furniture. “This bed?”
Squeezing in with you last night was miserable. I swapped it for a bunk bed. You take the bottom; I’ll take he top.”
t was a wooden bunk bed. The bottom was quite spacious, though the top was rather small.
Regarding Evie…
When she had come to squeeze into bed with her last night, Rianne had felt truly awkward. Even though Evie had a great personality, neither of them was used to sharing a blanket.
But now, Evie had gone and replaced the entire bed…
What was she implying? Did she plan on living here long–term?
Are you staying here?” Rianne asked.
Evie nodded. “To protect you, obviously. If anything happens to you, Stella won’t stop crying, and then Marie will come looking for trouble with me.”
Rianne: “.”
Hearing this, she felt even more envious of Stella. Likely because of Abraham, so many people in Falvaria

absolutely doted on her.
“I’m fine, really,” Rianne insisted.

Ariana was locked up and couldn’t get out; it wasn’t as if Tempest could eat her alive. And then there was Madam Linden…
Truthfully, from the moment she walked out of the Hale family home, she felt she no longer owed any of them any courtesy. Therefore, regardless of which member of the Hale family sought her out now, she treated them with the coldness of a stranger.
“What do you mean ‘fine? As long as Ariana is inside, the Hale family will keep harrassing you. Doesn’t that annoy you?”
“It does,” Rianne admitted.
“Then leave these matters to me.”
Evie was dead set on helping Rianne. The Hale family…
Since she had intervened, what happened to them was no longer for Rianne to decide alone. Tempest thought he could just talk to Rianne and fix things? He was dead wrong.
While Rianne was in the shower, Evie called Stella.
“Stella,” Evie said when she picked up. “If Tempest contacts you again, tell him I haven’t agreed to anything. No one is getting Ariana out of there.”
Stella: “…”
Huh?
“Did you hear me?”
“I… I heard you.”
“Good. Be a good girl. Bye.” Evie hung up abruptly.
On the other end of the line, Abraham–who was right next to Stella–actually received a call from Tempest at that very moment.
Over the phone, Tempest spoke to Abraham while suppressing his emotions. “Abraham, regardless of the circumstances, this is between Rianne and me. It isn’t appropriate for you to keep holding a member of the Hale family like this, is it?”
Abraham’s eyes narrowed, a cold glint flashing within them. Before he could speak, Stella tugged on his silk robe.
Abraham looked at her, and Stella leaned into his car, whispering, “Tell him to talk to Evie.”
Hearing that, a cold, sharp smile spread across Abraham’s lips. “It’s useless to come to me about this. You need to talk to Evie.”
