“Tempest, let me remind you, Rianne isn’t the law in Yalvaria. Don’t think going to her will do you any good.”
Going to Rianne now. Hmph… Even if he didn’t say, Stella knew exactly what he wanted to talk to Rianne about.
Tempest’s breathing grew ragged. “Stella, this is between me and Rianne. I’m warning you to stay out of it!”
The man’s tone turned cold. Clearly, Tempest was disgusted by Stella’s meddling.
Stella heard it too. “Oh, so you’re annoyed I’m meddling? Listen to you, Tempest.”
“Your own girlfriend’s problems have to be solved by her best friend, and you still have the nerve to say it’s ‘between you two‘?”
“If it’s your business, then handle it! This is maddening.”
“Whenever it’s between her and Ariana, you always side with Ariana. Since you trust Ariana so much, why don’t you just go spend the rest of your life with your precious sister?”
Furious! Stella hung up the phone. It had been a rapid–fire verbal assault.
Tempest’s head throbbed. He pinched the bridge of his nose and said to Jane, who was beside him, “She’s been in surgery this entire time?”
Tempest was currently right outside Aleton Hospital. He had wanted to go in and find Rianne, but Jane had checked. Rianne had been in the operating room ever since she arrived at the hospital today. She still hadn’t come out.
Jane nodded. “Yes, Miss Rianne has been in the operating room, and she’s with…” Wait! Jane stopped herself mid–sentence.
There was no helping it; her boss was a psycho. She had to choose her words carefully. But her mouth had moved too fast. Was that something she should say? If she said it… she’d be glared to death by Tempest.
For the past few days, Eddie had been a taboo subject around Tempest–a name that would make him explode.
Tempest’s eyes narrowed. “Is Eddie in there with her?”
Jane gave a dry laugh and nodded. “Yes.”

“Then why didn’t you say so before?” The man’s voice was dangerously cold.

Jane: Wasn’t it because she was afraid he’d go crazy? Her poor heart had been beating abnormally for days. At that moment, Jane had the urge to quit. She was genuinely afraid this psycho boss. would scare her to death.
Tempest glared icily at Jane. His look made her skin crawl. She stammered, “Well… I just found
out, too.”
“Jane, I’m starting to seriously question your competence.”
Jane: “Well, maybe you should find a new assistant?”
Tempest: “…”
Hailey, sitting next to him: “…”
The driver: “..
…
”
Three pairs of eyes snapped to Jane.
No, that’s not what she meant! She was just… so angry!
Tempest stared coldly at Jane, who was usually so meticulous, yet had just said such a thing. A dangerous light glinted in his eyes.
Jane rubbed her nose and looked out the window, pretending she hadn’t said a thing.
Good heavens! It wasn’t her fault… Her boss was just completely irrational when it came to his sister versus his girlfriend. It was one thing to be irrational, but he was also constantly on the verge of exploding. Working for him was enough to drive anyone crazy.
She was constantly being yanked back and forth over their drama.
Heavens, if she had sinned, please just punish her with overtime at the office! Not by dragging her abroad to chase his girlfriend, only to be blamed when he fails! Who could stand this?
Her heart rate was faster than when she was pulling an all–nighter, and she wasn’t even getting paid overtime for this. How was that fair?
Hailey snapped out of her shock. “You… you actually spoke to Tempest like that? Are you insane?”
It went without saying what kind of figure Tempest was in Rivermount. And Jane, as his assistant, actually dared…!
Hailey glanced at Tempest. “Tempest?” Was Tempest just easy–going, or was Jane just incredibly
