Chapter 920 Enough for a Lifetime
She couldn’t get along with Ariana and, more importantly, didn’t want to deal with her games. So, in the end, she simply moved out of the Hale family home.
People who didn’t know assumed Tempest had spoiled her and moved her out. In reality, it was
her own decision.
She was trying hard to mask her past loneliness with a generous smile, but Eddie still detected a hint of sadness in her voice.
He didn’t pursue the topic of Tempest. Instead, Eddie asked calmly, “What are you going to do about Ariana?”
Yesterday, Stella’s people and Evie had helped out. Evie was furious, beating up the men and viciously interrogating them alongside Stella’s team.
Eddie’s gaze fell on the noticeable red swelling on the back of Rianne’s hand. It was frostbite from the day before. She had done her best to huddle in a sheltered part of the cave and piled her clothes on her upper body, but some areas hadn’t been properly protected and were still injured. Because they found her quickly, it wasn’t severe.
Looking at that swollen hand, Eddie, who was usually easygoing, felt a flash of coldness in his
eyes.
At the mention of Ariana, Rianne’s grip on her knife and fork tightened again. “This matter is up to Stella.”
Up to Stella? Wait, this should be up to Stella. “Right, listen to Stella.”
She was the one who handled it, so Rianne didn’t have the final say.
Eddie: “Then if Tempest looks for you, that’s what you tell him.”
Rianne: “…” Tempest?
Eddie: “He’s here.”
He nodded toward the restaurant entrance.
Rianne followed his gaze and saw the man, radiating coldness, walking in.
Dressed in a long, dark grey trench coat, he looked even more austere,
He was followed by Hailey. There was no sign of his assistant, Jane.

Hailey walked behind Tempest. The moment she saw Rianne, her eyes filled with a thick, undeniable hostility.
If Tempest had only turned his head for a second,
Rianne probably wouldn’t have needed to explain anything ever again.
But unfortunately, he never saw the hostility—or even venom–that was hidden right behind him. And so, Rianne’s explanations became entirely redundant.
Rianne’s expression turned grim.
They hadn’t seen each other for a short time, but the man’s chill had intensified. As he approached, that icy aura seemed like it could freeze her solid.
Rianne glanced at Eddie. “I’m sorry.”
Eddie: “I’m not full!”
Sorry? What did that mean? He should leave? No way, he’d barely taken two bites.
He immediately speared a piece of beef and stuffed it in his mouth.
Seeing Eddie stay put, Tempest’s gaze darkened. “Is Doctor Eddie short on meals?”
Eddie: “I am.”
He was, at the very least, short this meal from Rianne. They had known each other for years, but this was the first time they had ever sat at the same table. Of course he was short!
To Tempest, Eddie’s behavior was obnoxious.
But Eddie, acting completely clueless, said, “Rianne, you eat too.”
That single “Rianne” made Tempest’s already high blood pressure spike. His face turned livid.
He glared dangerously at Eddie.
Eddie ignored him, turning to Rianne. “Hurry up and eat. A girl shouldn’t be so thin. Look at you.”
“I don’t know how the Hale family raised you. You’re the daughter of their savior, yet they left you short on food and clothes? Letting you get this thin!”
་་
Tempest: “…”
Instantly, his hands clenched into fists. He narrowed his eyes dangerously, pulled his wallet from his coat, and slapped a card down in front of Eddie.
