The Returned Heiress Who Never Fit In novel Chapter 936

**TITLE: She Took 936**
**Chapter 936 He Said It**

Marie couldn’t believe the audacity of Evie. Good grief, she thought, there was no way she could confess anything to this volatile woman. The tension crackled in the air like static electricity.

Evie’s voice cut through the silence like a knife. “Put Stella on. I’m done listening to your crap.” Her tone was sharp, filled with impatience.

“Hey, I’m telling you, woman…” Marie felt her irritation rising, her patience wearing thin.

Evie interrupted, her voice rising even higher. “I said, put Stella on! Do you really think I won’t hop on a plane right now and come over there to take you down?”

Marie shot back, her bravado flaring. “Go ahead! If you’ve got the guts, then come! We’ll see who ends up on top!”

Their rivalry was as old as time, forged in the fires of their childhood. Marie had never been intimidated by Evie; in fact, she thrived on their exchanges.

“But I’ll give you a heads-up,” Marie added, a smirk creeping onto her face, “if you come back now, your brother—with that IQ of his—definitely won’t be able to catch a high-IQ girl like Rianne.”

Evie’s eyes narrowed, her anger palpable. “You’re calling my brother stupid? Marie, you little witch, are you looking for a death wish?”

Insulting Eddie’s intelligence was crossing a line. Marie knew that Evie didn’t have much faith in her brother’s smarts either, but she wouldn’t let Marie get away with it.

“Fine, fine, your brother’s not stupid. But that just means you are, okay?” Marie countered, her confidence unwavering. If Evie were as clever as she claimed, she wouldn’t have fallen for Marie’s tricks in the first place.

Evie sputtered in disbelief. “You… You…”

Before Evie could unleash another tirade, Marie swiftly handed the phone to Stella. “Stella, phone. It’s Evie.”

Stella was in the middle of dialing Tessa, but she hadn’t connected yet. She brought the phone to her ear, curiosity piqued. “Evie.”

“Stella, you tell me. Did Eddie actually say he likes Rianne?” Evie’s voice was urgent, almost frantic.

Stella’s brow furrowed, and she shot a quick glance at Marie, who was watching intently. See? She figured it out quickly, especially with Evie’s explosive tone. This girl was definitely not someone to take lightly.

Clearing her throat, Stella replied, “He said it.”

“He did?” Evie’s disbelief was evident.

“Mhm. He said he really likes Rianne, but with Tempest in the way, it’s hard to ‘snatch’ her.”

A spark ignited in Marie’s eyes. That’s her sister! Quick on her feet, she thought with pride.

Evie’s voice rose again, filled with excitement and disbelief. “For real?”

“For real,” Stella confirmed, her tone steady.

“He’d say that?” Evie’s skepticism was palpable. It sounded too blunt, too unlike Eddie’s typical style.

Wait, she mused, he’s not subtle at all. He has no filter… But this is about feelings. Shouldn’t he be a little more reserved?

“Whether he’d say it or not, I’m the one who heard it. Don’t you trust me, Evie?” Stella’s tone softened, almost pleading.

Rianne hesitated, “Ah, you don’t have to.”

But she accepted the clothes nonetheless, knowing they couldn’t be returned and that Evie wouldn’t wear them.

“What do you mean? From now on, what’s mine is yours. And what’s my brother’s is yours, too,” Evie insisted, her spirit lifted after her conversation with Stella. At least this effort wasn’t in vain.

She thought back to all the women she had paraded in front of Eddie, each one more beautiful than the last, and how he had shown no interest in any of them. Evie had been furious, feeling like she was fighting a losing battle.

But now, it felt different.

“Rianne, I…”

“Alright, go to bed. It’s impossible with that Tempest guy anyway. You should consider my brother,” Evie said, her voice firm yet gentle.

“His mouth is a bit big, but at least he won’t make you suffer because of some other woman,” she added, her tone lightening.

“If you don’t believe me, just wait and see. If someone laid a hand on you, he’d protect you,” Evie assured her.

Before Rianne could respond, Evie was already out the door, leaving Rianne alone with her thoughts.

Rianne let out a long breath, feeling the weight of the conversation settle around her. She reached for her phone and called Stella.

Stella picked up almost immediately. “Rianne. My wedding is the day after tomorrow. I’m guessing you can’t make it?”
