Amorah POV

The moment Conrad lowered the document onto his desk, I knew something had shifted again. His jaw stayed tight, and th silence inside the room felt heavier than the council pressure we had been dealing with for weeks.

I closed the distance between us slowly and rested my hand against the edge of the desk. “What happened?”

Conrad looked at me for a long moment before answering. “Holmes plans to bring a witness to the hearing.”

I frowned immediately because his tone already told me the problem was worse than the hearing itself. “What kind of witness?”

He hesitated, and that hesitation made irritation rise inside me fast. Conrad rarely held information back from me anymore unless he believed it could hurt me directly.

“Conrad.”

His gaze finally lifted fully to mine. “Someone from your former pack.”

The words landed hard enough to make my chest tighten. I straightened slowly, trying to keep my expression calm even while my thoughts started moving rapidly through old memories I had spent years trying to bury.

“Who?” I asked quietly.

Conrad stepped around the desk and stopped directly in front of me. “I did not want you hearing it before I confirmed everything.”

“That is not an answer.”

His hand brushed against my arm gently before falling away/again. “Your former pack elder. The one who supported your

exile.”

The room went silent after that.

For a moment, I could almost hear the old council chamber again from years ago. The accusations. The judgment. The way nobody stood beside me when they decided I was disposable.

I folded my arms tightly across my chest and turned away from Conrad before the anger on my face became too obvious.

” Holmes was not attacking Conrad anymore. He was coming for me directly now,

“He wants to destroy my credibility before the hearing,” I muttered. “If he makes me look unstable or mampulative, then questioning the pregnancy becomes easier.”

Conrad moved closer behind me carefully. “I will not let them destroy you.”

I nodded once and handed him the document. “Payments moved through shell accounts tied to his ally network. If this goo public before the hearing, it damages Holines credibility badly”
