Chapter 112: Truth That Turns The Council
Chapter 112: Truth That Turns The Council
Amorah POV
The silence after Bethany’s statement lasted less than twelve hours before every Alpha territory started reacting publicly. By morning, council channels were flooded with accusations, demands, and questions about the twins‘ origins.
I stood beside Conrad inside his office while reports continued arriving across the main screen wall. The tension inside the territory felt different now because people were no longer whispering quietly behind closed doors.
“They’re losing control of the narrative,” I said.
Conrad looked away from the council reports and studied me carefully. “You already know what you want to do.”
I crossed my arms tightly over my chest and nodded once. “I’m done letting them decide how this story gets told.”
His expression shifted slightly after that. Pride looked strange on Conrad because he rarely showed emotion openly, but I recognized it immediately now.
“Then we do it your way,” he replied.
The Alpha assembly gathered before sunset inside the central council hall. Representatives from multiple territories filled the elevated seating rows while security wolves lined every entrance heavily.
The moment Conrad and I entered together, the entire room changed focus toward us instantly. I felt the attention settle on my stomach, my face, and the space between Conrad and me.
For once, I did not feel like shrinking under it.
Conrad remained beside me as we moved toward the center platform. His hand brushed lightly against my back once, steady and familiar.
Several council elders immediately began speaking over one another.
“This situation has become unacceptable.”
“The twins‘ records must be investigated fully.”
“The Supreme Alpha line cannot survive another scandal.”
I stopped walking before the central platform completely. My voice cut across the room before another elder could continue speaking.
“No,” I said calmly. “What’s unacceptable is all of you pretending this system only became corrupt recently.” The entire chamber went silent immediately.
One older Alpha narrowed his eyes at me. “You are speaking before the council.”
“I know exactly where I’m standing,” I answered.
Conrad stayed silent beside me. He did not interrupt once.
I looked across the assembly slowly before speaking again. “You allowed women to disappear when bloodlines became inconvenient. You allowed children to become political tools. Now you want to act shocked because the truth finally reached the public.”
Murmurs spread across the chamber instantly.
Another council elder stood sharply from his seat. “You are overstepping your position.”
“My position?” I repeated. “You mean the position where your council tried questioning whether I deserved legal rights over my own child?”
The elder’s jaw tightened immediately.

Several younger Alphas exchanged uneasy looks while whispers spread farther through the hall. For the first time since entering council politics, I felt the balance shifting instead of pressing down on me.
I continued before anyone else could redirect the conversation.
“You questioned my child before birth,” I said. “You hid the existence of erased bloodlines for years, and now you’re terrified because the truth is becoming public.”
One neutral Alpha leaned forward slowly from the upper row. “Are you accusing the council directly of involvement in these disappearances?”
“I’m accusing this system of protecting the wrong people for too long,” I replied.
The room erupted again after that.
Voices overlapped across the chamber while council representatives argued openly between themselves. Some defended the old bloodline systems while others demanded immediate investigation into the twins‘ origins publicly.
Through all of it, Conrad remained beside me silently.
When I finally looked toward him again, I caught the expression in his eyes immediately. He looked at me like he already knew this moment would change everything.
Without thinking, I reached for his hand beneath the council platform table. His fingers closed around mine instantly.
The contact grounded me immediately.
One older Alpha from the eastern territories stood slowly once the noise settled slightly again. “The council cannot ignore these accusations anymore.”
Another Alpha nodded sharply beside him. “If records were erased intentionally, every succession claim tied to those archives becomes questionable.”
The tension inside the room shifted harder after that. Fear finally started turning toward the council itself instead of only toward Conrad.
I realized then that Bethany’s statement had done something none of us expected. She had exposed enough corruption publicly that even neutral territories could no longer ignore it.
Conrad finally spoke beside me then. His voice carried across the chamber instantly.
“The council demanded transparency from my bloodline,” he said evenly. “Now the Alpha territories deserve transparency from all of you.”
No one answered him immediately.
The silence felt heavier than shouting.
By the time the assembly ended hours later, the atmosphere inside the hall had completely changed. Wolves no longer looked at me like Conrad’s temporary contract mate.
They looked at me like someone standing inside the center of Alpha politics permanently.
Outside the chamber, reporters and territory representatives crowded the secured corridors heavily. Security wolves cleared space immediately as Conrad guided me through the chaos carefully.
“You changed the room tonight,” he said quietly.
I exhaled slowly. “I think the room was already changing.”
Conrad’s hand settled against my lower back again while we walked. “No,” he replied. “They listened because of you.”
The words affected me more than I expected.
Back inside the territory later that night, Kyra sat curled on the couch waiting anxiously beside Zane. The moment we entered, both twins stood immediately.
“Did something bad happen?” Kyra asked quietly.

I moved toward her first and brushed hair away from her face carefully. “No.”
