The Rise Of The Betrayed Luna (Amorah and Holmes) novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145

Holmes POV

Everything suddenly felt twisted in ways I could barely process. Amorah had never been ordinary, and somehow I had spent years sleeping beside a woman my father valued more for bloodline power than love.

I slammed the tablet onto the desk hard enough to crack the screen. Rage rolled through me instantly because Conrad now possessed everything I should have protected myself.

A guard knocked carefully before stepping halfway inside the office. His scent carried nervous submission, and I hated noticing weakness so easily now.

Alpha, the southern patrol is waiting for your approval on tomorrow’s border rotations,he said quietly.

Handle it yourself,I snapped.

The guard lowered his eyes immediately before retreating from the room. Nobody questioned me anymore because the entire territory already sensed my control slipping dangerously.

I moved toward the office windows overlooking the lower training grounds. Two younger wolves immediately stopped sparring the second they noticed me standing above them.

That silence irritated me more than direct disrespect would have. Fear smelled different from loyalty, and lately my territory smelled wrong.

The dominance challenges had become constant during recent weeks. Younger wolves delayed obeying orders, avoided eye contact improperly, and whispered when they thought I could not hear them.

Before Amorah left, nobody challenged me openly. Before Conrad publicly claimed her, my wolf never felt this unstable inside my own territory.

My chest tightened painfully when I thought about her sleeping beside another Alpha. Conrad touched her openly now, protected her openly, and called her his without hesitation.

The worst part was knowing Amorah allowed it willingly. She looked calmer beside him than she ever looked beside me during our marriage.

I remembered how she used to stay awake waiting for me after late council meetings. Even exhausted, she always greeted me quietly and asked whether I had eaten anything.

Now she probably waited for Conrad instead. The realization burned through me hard enough that my claws pushed partially through my fingertips.

Another knock interrupted my spiraling thoughts before I completely lost control. My beta entered carrying a sealed archive folder while carefully avoiding direct eye contact.

We tracked Bethany’s safehouse region,he reported. The rogues protecting the border scattered before our wolves arrived.

I laughed coldly before taking the folder from him. Of course they disappeared before anyone useful could be captured. My beta hesitated before speaking again. There’s another issue involving old succession records connected to your

father.”

I opened the attached files impatiently before my entire body went still. Private communications between my father and former council elders filled the screen almost immediately.

repeatedly beside hidden bloodline markers. Bethany’s name barely appeared at all.

ntly as Leontinued reading. One message from my father stated clearly that Amorah’s bloodline

companbility made her poltsally valuable enough for marriage approval.

escribed her emotional attachment tendencies as useful for longterm influence. I stopped breathing for several seconds after reading those words

My father knew exactly who Amorah was before I ever married her. Maybe he knew before I even introduced her formally

Suddenly old memories started rearranging themselves inside my head differently. My father always watched Amorah too carefully during gatherings and constantly asked questions about her family history afterward.

At the time. I thought he simply approved of my future Luna publicly. Now I realized he had been studying a bloodline

he entire time

I lowered myself slowly into the desk chair while anger fought against disbelief inside my chest. Everything connected to Amorah suddenly felt manipulated from the beginning.

Withour thinking. I walked toward the hidden cabinet beside the far wall. Most wolves believed classified territory records were stored there securely.

Only I knew the truth. The cabinet contained years of photographs, recordings, and private moments connected entirely to Amorah

My hands shook slightly while opening the lower drawer. Hundreds of preserved memories stared back at me immediately beneath the dim office lights.

There were photographs of Amorah laughing during private dinners before our marriage collapsed publicly. Others showed her asleep beside me during long flights between territories years ago.

I picked up one photograph carefully and stared at her face silently. She looked softer there, younger, and completely convinced I loved her properly.

My chest tightened painfully because part of me still did love her. I had simply loved ambition and control more.

A crash echoed from the lower training grounds moments later. My beta stiffened beside the doorway immediately. Another dominance fight started downstairs,” he warned carefully.

I closed the cabinet before walking toward the training grounds myself. Violence sounded easier to manage than the mess inside my own head.

By the time I reached the courtyard, two younger wolves were partially shifted while guards struggled separating them physically Silence spread across the crowd immediately after I arrived.

One wolf lowered his eyes respectfully. The second hesitated too long before submitting.

My wolf reacted instantly to the disrespect. I crossed the distance between us before anyone moved and slammed him hard against the concrete barrier beside the ring.

You challenge my authority again.I growled directly into his face, and I will personally tear your throat open.”

Fear flooded his scent immediately afterward. The surrounding wolves stayed completely silent while watching me lose control publicly.
