Left with no alternative, Zane got out of bed, threw on some clothes, and headed out the door.
Once in the car, he called Tobias. Bianca answered again.
"Is something going on, Zane?" Bianca asked cheerfully.
"Nothing major. Just have Tobias call me back when he's out."
As Zane hit the highway, Tobias finally returned the call.
Zane didn't sugarcoat it. "My mom and Beatrice hired a bunch of male entertainers and took them to a hotel..."
Considering all the implications, Zane settled on a safer verb. "To dance."
"Now they're trapped in the presidential suite by the local PD." Zane rattled off the hotel address. "Top floor."
"Pull some strings and make sure they don't actually get arrested," Zane instructed. "But don't pull the cops out too fast. Let them sweat a little. They need to learn they can't just do whatever they want."
"I'm on it, man. I'll handle it," Tobias promised. He hung up the phone and turned around to find his wife practically vibrating with excitement.
"What did Zane say?"
"Did the two aunts get busted by the cops?"
"They hired male entertainers to dance?!"
"And booked the presidential suite?!"
"Wow, the aunts really know how to treat themselves!"
Tobias knew perfectly well how much his wife thrived on gossip. He chuckled. "My dad was a genius for not letting you become a cop."
"Cut the crap, are you going to go put out the fire?" Bianca pressed, her eyes shining. "Can I come with you? Let's go see if the aunts need anything else. I can offer my excellent hospitality services."
"It's inappropriate for me to show up," Tobias said. "Actually, it's inappropriate for anyone to show up."
"Why is it inappropriate? We're family! We're the younger generation. The only people who shouldn't show up are their husbands."
"Stop talking. Your true intentions are written all over your face."
