Chapter 40: DTR?
Jinx’s P.O.V.

Holy fu.cking sh.it, that just happened. I just fingered Deidra Hartman. I made her cu.m. Me.
No, no. Not just cu.m. She fu.cking squirted. I think anyway. I meant it when I told her she was going to drench my hand, but I wasn’t expecting this. No from just my fingers. I never even pictured Deidra as a squirter. That would have just made everything worse. But now things are
different. And now I know that I can make her squirt.
f***k, I wonder if she can do it again right away. I want her to do it on my face this time. Then on my co.ck. In several different positions. I bet I could make her beg me for it like I did just now. It was so fu.cking hot. Deidra is so responsive. She was so lost to her lust too. It was the se.xiest thing I’d ever seen in my life.
And knowing she likes being praised… Feeling the way her p****y clamped down on my fingers when I complimented her, when I thanked her. f***k it was incredible. She did the same thing when she came. She clamped down tightly as her walls fluttered.
I’m so fu.cking worked up, I’m about to drop my pants and f***k her brains out like this.
But Deidra deserves better. Plus, I need her to know that I’m serious about this. Which, according
to Birdie, means taking things slow. Which we already aren’t doing, but Deidra did want it. However,
our first time is not going to be in the middle of the kitchen, rushed like this. I want it to be better than that. More special. So that she’ll finally fall in love with me.
So, with great reluctance, I pulled my fingers out of Deidra’s incredibly tight and drenched p****y.
Her walls gripped onto me, trying to hold me in. I nearly fu.cking lost it right there. But I didn’t. I
was a fu.ckng gentleman.
I wrapped my other arm around Deidra’s middle and pulled her up. She stood up enough to allow
me to spin her around to face me. Her eyes were glazed over, cheeks flushed red, and those dark
brown curls were a se.xy mess around her. She looked at me, dazed as her body leaned against
mine. I held those bright hazel eyes as I brought the fingers that had been inside her to my lips.
Deidra’s eyes widened slightly as I parted my lips and sucked on those fingers.
“Mmmmmm,” I moaned dramatically, my eyes rolling back, really making a show of it. Which was fu.cking easy since she tasted so damn good. And fu.cking meant that. Her juices were sweet and tangy.
Suddenly, my arm was yanked down. Before I knew what was happening, Deidra’s lips were on
mine. She grabbed the back of my head, pulling me down as she devoured my mouth. Her tongue
pushed past my lips, tasting the tiny bit of herself on my tongue. My hands were on her a.ss,

squeezing her before I could stop myself. I lifted her up, setting her on the countertop.
And then I pulled away.
Cla
“f***k, Lilac,” I breathed out, pulling away further when she tried to reel me back in. “We gotta stop
here.”
“Why?” Deidra whined, frowning at me. It made me laugh a little.
“Because I didn’t come over here to f***k you, Peony,” I said teasingly. “I came over here to get you
to have breakfast with us.”
“But you attacked me first,” she complained, her frown growing.
“I sure fu.ckin did, baby girl,” I replied with a laugh. “Your fault for answering the door in just this shirt. Not even wearing panties. It was like you wanted me to do something.”
“That’s not true,” she argued, sounding more like my normal Thorn again. “You pounding on the door woke me up. I was half asleep still.”
Despite already guessing that, it kind of pi.ssed me off.
“You can’t just be answering the door for people dressed like this, Deidra,” I practically growled at
her.
Deidra’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, and not the good kind.
“It was just you anyway, so get over it, Jinx,” she said, mocking me. “I’ve never done it before, and I
probably won’t again. So chill out. Why are you even so mad?”
“What makes you think I’m so mad?” I asked, sounding ridiculous because I clearly sounded angry. “And what did I say about calling me Jinx?”
“To answer both questions for you… You called me Deidra,” she said, crossing her arms under her t**s. t**s I just had my hands on moments ago. “I didn’t even think you knew my real name. It sounds weird coming out of your mouth.”
I gave her a confused look.
“You’re upset,” I said. Not a question. It was a fact. Deidra blushing, only confirmed it. “Don’t pi.ss me off, and I’ll make sure to call you by a flower at all times, Zinnia.”
“Why are you even mad about it?” She grumbled, looking partly bashful. “Shouldn’t you be happy about it or something?”
I chuckled as I grabbed her face and kissed her nose.
“I’m happy that I was the one that was at the door. I’m extremely happy about every single moment that’s happened since you opened that door.” I told her, grabbing her thighs and pulling her closer so that she could feel exactly how happy I still am. “But,” I added. “What if it wasn’t me? You were

just going to let anyone see you like this? That’s not gonna fly with me, Heliotrope.”

She gave me an unimpressed look. She looks like she’s going to call me out on what she thinks is
bullsh.it. It was an adorable look. One I’m very familiar with, but this time it felt different. It made
me laugh and kiss her nose again, just wanting to bask in this closeness.
“Because of our fake relationship?” Deidra asked, her voice quiet but strong.
I pulled back enough to look her in the eyes.
“Fake relationship,” I scoffed. “No, Tiger Lily, because I will gut any person, especially another man,
if they ever see you like this. This,” I said, gesturing to all of her. “Is for my eyes only.”
“You’re awfully possessive for someone who has no right to be,” she mumbled.
I cupped the side of her face and smiled at her.
“I’m tryin‘ babe,” I told her.
“Trying to what exactly?” She asked, narrowing her eyes at me.
“Trying to be someone who has the right,” I replied, trying to show on my face how genuine I felt.
“Why?” She breathed out, searching my eyes.
For a moment, I wasn’t sure how to respond. So I didn’t. I could tell her the truth. Tell her what I’ve
tried multiple times in the past to tell her. But what if she rejects me? What if she doesn’t think I’m
serious? I was stuck. I wasn’t sure what to say.
“Brixton, I really want to know,” Deidra said when I didn’t respond to her. “What is this between us?
Why is it… Why is it so easy? And I mean… I’m just really confused,” she said, frustration and
confusion lacing her words. “People keep saying stuff to me about you, and it’s really making me
second–guess every single interaction we ever had. And all this… the way you’re acting… I mean,
faking a relationship in public is one thing, but you act… weird all the time!” Now she was getting
louder and scowling at me. “You always have to touch me, and hold my hand, and steal moments
alone with me. We keep ending up in these steamy situations which are great and all, but you act
like it’s not just se.x to you! I–I need to know the truth! I–I just need to know what we’re doing here
so that I can act accordingly.”
I stared at her for a moment, slightly shocked. No, m hella shocked. That was quite the rant. Deidra pretty much just asked me to define our relationship. Well, she more demanded it, but still.
“I want more with you,” I blurted before I could stop myself.
“What?” Deidra asked, her eye widening as a blush crept up her neck.
“I–I want more with you,” I repeated. “Not a fake relationship. Because what we have is real.”
She shook her head, apparently trying to clear her thoughts.

“Are you crazy?” She asked, dowsing every flame of hope I had burning inside me.
“For you, definitely,” I muttered under my breath.

“We’ve hated each other all our lives, why the sudden change now?” she asked. “Is it because of Waylen? Because I don’t think you should try to date me just because you think I’d make a good
step–mom-”
“That’s not it at all, Deidra,” I cut her off. “And I never hated you. You always hated me.”
“You always did sh.it to me!” She yelled. “You’re literally the reason why I had to cut all my hair off in the first, third, and sixth grades! You spilled food and drinks on me more times than I can count. You’ve tripped me, embarrassed me, and…” She trailed off, looking at me in a way that she never
had before. “You… were out to get me…” She said, sounding completely unsure of herself.
“I never was, I just…” I trailed off, looking around as blew out a breath. “I just always seemed to
have the worst luck around you. It always rubbed off on you. Everyone teased me about it my
whole life, Thorn. You were the only one who thought I did any of those things on purpose,” I
admitted.
“Like a damn jinx,” she mumbled, her eyes growing wider. “Wait… you got that name because of me? Really?”
“Because it was one unfortunate event after another around you, yeah,” I replied. “And no matter how much it happened, or what happened, I kept going back. I kept seeking you out. I kept trying to be around you, to be your friend. And every single time, it ended in us fighting.”
Deidra stared at me for a moment, her eyes searching mine.
“W–why didn’t you ever just say anything?” she asked.
“I tried a few times,” I admitted. “We’ve always had bad timing I guess.”
“But not now,” she whispered.
“Now is different, and I’m taking the chance,” I told her.
“I have so many questions,” she murmured, looking at me in a daze.
“Well, they’re going to have to wait,” I said. “Waylen misses you.”
And I seriously will spout all kinds of embarrassing sh.it if I let her ask me anything right now. I need time. Time to think more clearly. Because Deidra and I have a bigger past than she actually knows about.
I have a feeling all my secrets are about to come to light very soon.
