James King’s voice went up an octave. The experts and technicians eavesdropping nearby froze in place, their expressions as shocked as if they’d just heard a fairy tale.
The cyber-defense battle they had just witnessed was complex and dangerous enough to go down in history books.
And the one who solved the crisis was…
A high schooler taking the SATs tomorrow?
The sheer contrast was too much for these seasoned elites to process all at once.
Richard Chamberlain stood there stunned, feeling his entire worldview take a violent hit.
‘The younger generation really is formidable!’ Richard thought to himself.
But… this room was full of experts, professors, and tech veterans who had been on the front lines for decades. Their egos needed protecting too!
Saved by a high school girl… while it was a blessing for national security, their reputations were definitely taking a bruising.
The senior experts exchanged looks, seeing nothing but self-doubt reflected in each other’s eyes.
They had spent their lives studying cybersecurity and considered themselves world-class, yet today, they felt like clumsy beginners in front of this girl.
“If we’re done, I’m leaving.”
Natalie Moore swiftly unplugged her silver USB drive, gave a curt nod of farewell, and turned to walk out with effortless poise.
James King, Richard Chamberlain, and the rest hurried after her to see her off.
“Miss Moore, let me arrange a private car to take you back,” James offered.
Just then, Henry Pierce spoke up, “I’m heading to Seaside City too. If you don’t mind, Miss Moore, you can take my car.”
They reached the main entrance as they spoke.
“Thanks, but no thanks.”
Natalie declined, gesturing with her chin toward a black SUV parked ahead.
Everyone understood and didn’t push further.

A tall guy with platinum blond hair stepped out of the driver’s seat. Dressed in a black T-shirt and jeans, he had a rebellious look, accented by a row of silver studs in his ear that glinted under the lights.
He moved quickly to the passenger side and opened the door. His posture was casual, yet he showed absolute respect for the person entering the car.
“Boss.”
Blondie grinned at Natalie, flashing his white teeth. His eyes were bright, radiating a youthful energy.
Natalie gave a short “Mhm” and slid inside.
The blond guy finally looked up, his gaze sweeping over the group standing at the entrance.
He gave a casual wave as a greeting and then hopped back into the driver’s seat.
The black SUV’s engine let out a low roar as it sped off into the night, quickly disappearing down the street.
Henry Pierce’s brow twitched slightly, only returning to his usual expression when Lewis arrived.
“Boss, what are you looking at? The car’s long gone!”
Lewis followed his gaze. “Who’s that guy? He looks about the same age as Miss Moore.”
“Could he be her…”
Henry gave Lewis a chilling glance. Lewis instantly felt an invisible pressure that made the hair on his neck stand up, and he swallowed his remaining words.
“Mind your business.”
Henry uttered just those three words. His voice was low, but carried an undeniable coldness.
Lewis bowed his head immediately, not daring to say another word.
Blondie suddenly shivered. “Yikes…. why do I feel a chill down my spine?”
It felt like being watched by a viper. He brushed back his hair.
“Boss, what are we eating?” Blondie asked.
“Whatever.” Natalie reclined her seat. “Wake me when we’re there.”
“Got it,” Blondie said.
Meanwhile, inside a presidential suite at a Seaside City hotel.
Ryan Mitchell was pacing back and forth anxiously. “Ugh! Since we know where our sister is, why aren’t we going to find her?!”
