Winter paused.

To Winter, Sean was someone senior to her, almost on the same level as William’s father. She had been raised to answer people like him respectfully, but that didn’t mean she had to tell him everything.
So she said, “When the time is right.”
She had already made plans to travel and clear her head. If she went to a crowded tourist city, she would have more chances to shake off whoever was watching her.
Her answer was basically no answer at all.
Sean didn’t seem to mind. He only said, “William wants you to leave. I can help you.”
Winter shook her head. “Thank you, Sean, but I don’t want anyone else getting hurt because of me. I want to handle this myself.”
She knew Sean was powerful. Even William didn’t know the full extent of what Sean was capable of. But Chris wasn’t someone to take lightly.
William was still in the middle of the shoot. He could make any shot look like a magazine cover just by standing there, so things were moving quickly.
For several seconds, the area around them was quiet.
“All right.” Sean’s calm, unreadable gaze rested on her face. “If you can’t handle it, tell me.”
Winter didn’t know why, but every time she spoke to Sean, she felt an invisible pressure settle over her.
Sean was clearly a calm man by nature. Even though he had held a powerful position for years, he treated William incredibly well. And since Winter was William’s closest friend, he had always been good to her too. He would never use the kind of pressure and tactics people used in elite circles on her.
Yet, she couldn’t shake that inexplicable feeling.
Still, she nodded and said, “I understand, Sean.”
At Liono University’s journalism department, Jimmy walked out of the academic building and headed toward the parking lot.
Just then, his phone rang.
He glanced at the number on the screen.
It was unfamiliar, and it didn’t look like a local number.
He ignored it, declined the call, and got into his car.
But just as he started the engine, the same number called again.
The ringtone kept going.

Just as Jimmy decided it was a prank and was about to hang up, a polite male voice came from the other end.
