The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon (Celine and Bastian) novel Chapter 125

Chapter 125

End of Part One

“Now think about where you left the sword. I’ll use that to open a portal, retrieve it, and then we’ll get the hell out of here and head to the human world.”

“I’ll do that once we’ve finished negotiating our terms and sealed the deal with a blood pact.”

Johan watches me in silence for several seconds, still holding me suspended in the air with his magic. His expression shift just enough for me to realize that something I said has genuinely surprised him.

Now it’s my turn to smile.

Because for the first time since I walked into this room, Johan doesn’t seem to have an immediate answer.

He wasn’t expecting me to know the significance of a blood pact.

“I’ll give you one bag of my blood. I’ll hand over my sword, and in return you’ll give me my family and take us to Montana, where I’ll find that warlock you apparently despise.”

Johan’s smile slowly fades. He studies me as though trying to determine how much I truly know and how much I’m simply figuring out as I go.

‘Or I could kill you right here, take your blood, and find a way into that ridiculous castle to steal the sword.” His voice remains calm, but the threat is unmistakable. “I don’t lose, sweetheart.”

I shake my head as I look at him.

“No. You would’ve already done that if it were within your power. I told you, warlock. I’m not stupid.”

I feel Zack wake before Bastian does just as my feet touch the floor again, but I don’t take my eyes off Johan. He narrows his eyes thoughtfully, as though he’s just realized negotiating with me is going to be far more difficult than he expected.

“You’ll give me one bag of blood and your sword. In return, I’ll hand over your ridiculous family and leave all of you in Montana. But you’ll have to do one more thing for me.”

I shake my head.

Kneeling beside Bastian, I gently brush the hair away from his forehead before leaning down to kiss his lips, lingering for just a heartbeat longer than necessary as I try to memorize his face in case fate decides to separate us again for a very long time.

“I won’t do anything that puts my pup in danger. He doesn’t know it yet, but I’m pregnant with our child. As I speak, I focus every ounce of my strength on reaching Zack. I’m so close. I only need to distract the warlock for a few more minutes.

“Pregnant? I can’t even sense another life inside you.”

“It’s still very early. My wolf and I can already feel our baby growing inside us.”

Johan remains silent for several seconds before speaking again.

“You won’t be putting yourself or your pup in danger. You’ll only have to steal the other sword. A terrible she-wolf has it, a hybrid. If you succeed, I’ll fulfill my part of the agreement.” Idunn.

Erebus’s voice echoes through my mind with a clarity that sends chills across my skin. It isn’t my imagination. I feel the tattoos shifting across my arm and back as the Wolfsangel mark burns beneath my skin like fire Helel.

I hold my breath.

So that’s the other sword.

“All right. Now let me say goodbye to my husband.”

As Johan traces circles through the air to open the portal, I seize the instant when all his attention is focused on the spell. The barrier he’d erected to block communication between wolves weakens just enough, and I manage to slip through it

Zack! Stay calm. The Millers betrayed my family. I have to go after them. They’re in danger. I love you. love both you and Bastian. Don’t worry. Just wait for me.

“Don’t leave without us, Celine! Don’t you dare leave us behind!”

A sharp pain pierces my chest, but I close my eyes for just a moment before answering.

I don’t have a choice, sweetheart.

I’ll destroy the world if I can’t find you.”

A sad smile touches my lips.

Go to the human world. I’ll be in Montana, in a black forest. Find a way to find me.

The connection snaps without warning. Johan realizes what I’ve just done and, before I can react, he grabs me roughly by the hair and throws me through the portal.

I have no idea how he managed it, but the portal opens directly into my bedroom.

The moment my feet touch the floor, I recognize every corner of the room. Johan steps through behind me without even bothering to close the portal. It remains suspended several feet away, hanging in the air like an open wound, reminding me that time is running out and that Bastian could wake up at any moment.

I don’t waste a single second.

I rush to the dresser where Erebus rests. My fingers wrap around the hilt, and a shiver runs through my entire body the instant I feel the familiar weight of the sword again. I secure it across my back with quick, practiced movements before pulling one of the daggers hidden beneath my clothes. Without taking my eyes off Johan, I draw the blade across the palm of my hand.

The burn is immediate.

Blood begins to flow freely, and I close my hand for a brief moment before stepping toward the warlock.

“I’ll give you my blood and my sword once you’ve fulfilled your side of the bargain. But first, we’ll make the blood pact. If you betray me, you’ll die.”

Johan studies the wound in silence.
