The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon

Chapter 135

Valeria

The silence that follows her words is painfully uncomfortable.

Every eye turns to Larissa.

For the first time since I’ve known her, she lowers her gaze. Her shoulders lose some of the firmness they’ve carried since she arrived, and although she struggles to maintain her composure, the weight of guilt finally shows on her face.

Karin steps forward, her brow deeply furrowed.

“The warlock who kidnapped Celine in Lemuria and brought her here… is your son, Larissa?” she asks, a severity in her voice that’s unusual for her. “Why did you never tell us you had another son besides Vladimir?”

Larissa slowly lifts her head.

“Because he’s a dark warlock, just like his father. I never raised him. He left with his father when he was only a little boy, and I haven’t seen him in centuries.” Her voice is filled with anger, not regret. “That’s why I never spoke about him. Johan isn’t like Vladimir. He never was.”

“You have terrible taste when it comes to choosing partners, Mother.” Vladimir takes another drink from the bottle before looking at Larissa with a crooked, ironic smile. “At least I’m the son of a vampire… and, all things considered, the old man’s actually pretty likable.”

Larissa shoots him a murderous glare.

“Your father is an idiot.”

“Maybe.” He shrugs without losing his smile. “But at least he didn’t leave you with another dark, completely psychotic son.”

Morgana puts an end to the exchange between Vlad and his mother by kneeling before Celine.

“I promise we’ll work as quickly as we can. We’ll recover your memories, and as soon as we do, we’ll find a way to send you home. We don’t want to keep you here, Celine. We understand your urgency, but whatever happened during those two months could be of the utmost importance to both the human and supernatural worlds.”

Celine frowns, unable to understand.

“Why? What do my memories, or I, have to do with this world?”

Karin steps forward and gently takes her hand. She waits a few seconds, making sure she has everyone’s attention before speaking.

“I need everyone to remain silent. Celine needs to know what has happened in this world over the past few decades, and I don’t want any interruptions.”

The conversations stop immediately.

Even Vladimir sets the bottle on a nearby table and folds his arms in silence. Morgana remains motionless. Zharzel stops smiling, and Tanner, his parents, Savannah, Christian, Ciro, Arman, and Koorush return to their seats without taking their eyes off Karin.

When the room falls completely silent, my mother-in-law begins.

“For hundreds of years, the human and supernatural worlds coexisted in almost perfect balance, until one day a king from another world came to our pack with the sole intention of ruling over us. His name was Darion, and he lived in Avalon. He

pretended to be my fated mate by taking advantage of my vampire side, and he used a magical white-gold slave as a tool to deceive all of us. While we trusted him, he built an army in the shadows and prepared for a war none of us ever imagined By the time he finally revealed his true face, it was already too late. The battle that followed was devastating Wolves, vampires, fairies, shifters, and members of countless other supernatural races died. It was a true massacre

Karin pauses briefly.

For a moment. her eyes drift toward a memory she’d rather forget before accepting the glass of water Savannah offers per She takes a sip, draws a deep breath, and continues.

“But that wasn’t the worst of it. Without my knowledge, Darion stole one of my eggs. He fertilized it and implanted it into another vampire woman. For years, I had no idea that one of my children was growing up far away from me.”

Disbelief spreads across Celine’s face.

“He lost that first war because he made one mistake. He never imagined that every supernatural race would set aside its differences and fight together against him. But he didn’t die that day. He disappeared for decades and used that time to rebuild his army. When he returned, it was no longer made up only of vampires. Through genetic experimentation, he had created hybrids, monstrous creatures bred for one purpose alone: to kill. The second war was even bloodier than the first

Karin’s voice grows heavier.

“That’s when I discovered Darion had a son.

“My son.

“The child born from the egg he stole from me, whose existence I knew nothing about. After the second battle, Killian, my son and the current King of Avalon, brought everything to an end. He was the one who killed Darion and finally ended the war that had threatened our world for decades.
